Garrard County 45 Bethlehem 6

Final.

Tough times over at old St. Joe Prep . . .

Congrats to Mark Scenters and staff on their first win! :thumb:

Garrard County was impressive in their Hall of Fame Bowl win tonight against Bethlehem. The Eagles were competitive early before losing running back/linebacker Cameron Wilson to an apparent knee injury. After the injury Bethlehem really seemed to be out of options. The biggest problem Garrard had this evening was penalties. Too many holds and blocks-in-the-back.

Scoring broke down as follows:

First Quarter

GC - 8:22 - Tyler Ray 6 yard pass from Cash Staley (Will DeMarcus kick)

Second Quarter

GC - 5:39 - Ray 49 yard pass from Staley (kick failed)

GC - 5:23 - Austin Napier 34 yard fumble return (kick failed)

GC - 4:15 - Ray 42 yard run (pass failed)

Third Quarter

GC - 11:29 - Jamarious Merritt 84 yard run (DeMarcus kick)

GC - 0:51 - Fred Hayes 3 yard run (DeMarcus kick)

Fourth Quarter

GC - 10:44 - Jansen Penman 5 yard run (kick failed)

B - 3:56 - Luke Wimpsett 14 yard run (kick failed)

Garrard County improves to 1-1 on the young season. The Lions have three consecutive home district games beginning next week with Jackson County, followed by matchups with Somerset and Taylor County.

Also tonight the school inducted two new members into the Football Hall of Fame. Terry Dunn, a four year starter from 1970-73 was inducted, along with former head coach Sam Burke, the longest tenured coach in school history, who served from 1973-1982.

All in all, a good night of football at Garrard County High School!:thumb:

Just hired a couple months ago as the new head baseball coach starting this upcoming spring. He's been teaching at the high school for about five years now. Should be interesting to see how he does.

You will not find a more top-notch leader of young men.

Ed Rall is a great coach, man and mentor. Hopefully he will bring success back to GC's baseball team. Glad to see Garrard County get their first win. As a former player of GC, and coach down here in TX's.... I'm glad to see the team back on the right track. Great Job!

Garrard controlled every aspect of the game. The defense only allowed 84 total yards, while rushing for 300+. Next week Garrard hosts district Jackson county. This will be a good game for Garrard to get off on a winning foot in district play.

Congrats to GC on thier first win of the season they will have a great season. Good luck next week.
