Will Bowling Green matchup as well with T as they have with X?
I'd really like to know why Bowling Green has flopped the past two years in the title game......they are cranking out more players to colleges than any other school in the state, or so it seems. I say Rocks by 2 TDs at least.....

Do you think your team needs to upgrade, downgrade, or hold onto their schedule?
...and don't forget about that little team down in Richmond that has had GRC's number the past 10+ years too. I think Kenny Turner has done a great job with Madison Central's schedule.....the old district was pretty weak (except for last season) and that hurt the Indians come playoff time. The new district features teams we match up with well in GRC, Scott County, and Shelby County. The non-district features familiar regional foes Dunbar and Tates Creek and the always tough Bluebirds from Highlands. Boone County should be an interesting match-up the week before the playoffs.......as should the Madison Southern game in week 2. Southern was formed from Central in the late 80's and the schools have only played once. I'm looking forward to the Danville game as well.......there should be athletes all over the field in that one.

2007 Madison Central
MC has scrimmaged Boyle County since 1999, so I am sure that is one of them. The other team has varied from year to year with the likes of Cov Cath, Male, Lexington Catholic, and Paris. Not sure about this year.... Tyler Mays played middle school football at Madison Middle in Richmond before transferring to Harrodsburg. He will make a good backfield even better. There is another transfer from out of state that I am really looking forward to seeing as well. As for the question marks, it is going to be a very green, but very large offensive line and a defense that has been really bad the past few seasons. If I'm coaching against the Indians, I run the ball every single down until they prove they can stop it, which unfortunately they haven't shown the ability to do lately.....

2007 Madison Central
The Indians lost around 10 seniors....most of which played a lot and will be missed, but nothing that can't be replaced. The QB will be a Sr., he started most of his sophmore year and all of last year. His play is streaky, but when given time he can fling the deep ball well. Hopefully, he can gain some more convidence and pick up his play. The Indians return a solid core in the skill positions. There will be lots of speed here as always. The offensive line will have a lot of new faces, but should be very big. Scoring points should not be a problem on most teams. As for the defense, they haven't been able to stop the run the past two seasons so that should be something they are working towards. I know there have been some transfers in..........one of which I understand is going to be a stud, and is only a junior.

Best High School Football player ever
With no disrespect to Tim Couch (or anyone else mentioned), Brian Brohm is my choice. His Jr. year stats are unreal.......all he did was win 3 rings playing the best competition (in and out of state) in the best class in KY. He did have the benefit of playing at Trinity, but that came with lots of pressure as well. A lot of Tim's stats came against mountain teams that rarely had to defend a passing team other than Leslie County or Breathitt County...

Which teams and players have looked the best to you in summer?
While I think Feldhaus has underacheived with some of his most talented teams, he really made a smart move by moving Aaron Morris to more of a face up game this past season. At 6'-6" he is a likely 3 in college with his frame......I've heard Marshall is interested, I'll try and see what else I can dig up....

Lincoln County Offensive Coordinator
Losing Clevenger will have an impact, but the loss of Miller and Calhoun (or 90% of your offensive production) has to hurt worse....

KY All-Stars 38 Tenn. All-Stars 24
:thumb: TN's linebackers were huge......

KY All-Stars 38 Tenn. All-Stars 24
KY could have really used a linebacker like Brent Slusher (Bell County) or someone with a little more size. The guys at LB did the best they could, but looked out of position. KY had a lot of big lineman, and a lot of small, speedy backs. Golfer, I thought it was 21 for TN that was eating up the KY D.

KY All-Stars 38 Tenn. All-Stars 24
Nick Petrino started the game at QB, had 2 INT but didn't play bad at all. The first pick was underthrown, but the second was at the end of the half. The offense moved best when Tandy was at QB. The running backs for KY were awesome tonight as well....Vic Anderson, Tim Huegley, and Doug Beuamont all scored with Vic having 3 (?). KY would have won by a lot more if they could have stopped the run better. TN ran the ball well through the first 3 quarters, KY's lack of linebackers and size at LB hurt them. McDermott (Trinity) and Hibbard (South Laurel) were two standouts on the defensive line. There were a lot of guys who contributed to this win........

Last year for KY/TN game?
^My earlier post was referring to UT signees from Kentucky. Did Montrell Jones play in the game in 01? Those are the only UT guys from the state of KY in recent years that I can think of.... Imagine what kind of flack UK or UofL would get if they put major heat on thier signees not to play....

Last year for KY/TN game?
Is it just me, or does it seem UT has the biggest role in players opting out of this game (and thus a decline in talent)? I've always heard Phillip Fulmer doesn't want his incoming guys playing in all-star games period. I don't think Rob Smith (Highlands) played in the 02 game, and Luke Stocker (Madison Southern) skipped the 06 game. Of course on the TN side, there are a lot of in-state guys who opt out.

Champ Ligon fired from Bryan Station
There has to be more to this story, he wouldn't have been canned for not having success.......Bryan Station won 2 games the year before he arrived and was losing much of thier talent elsewhere (see Lexington Catholic State Champs in 2002).....Station was a top 10 team the past two seasons, lost at Madison Central in the 2006 Regional Tourney and got beat by a last second shot this past season in the Region Tourney, and they played in the best district in the state.........John Barnes is the athletic director and is a good guy, there has to be more to this story......

WKU or EKU Senior camps
I was on a flight from Dallas to Lexington back around signing day and Danny Hope was on the flight.....probably trying to lure a kid to KY from the Dallas area when in fact there is talent here. It really ticks me off that Eastern doesn't offer scholarships to local kids, instead wanting them to walk on and take the third or fouth tier player from Florida or Texas. The problem with EKU not recruiting KY kids stems back into the days of Roy Kidd as well. If the Colonels were winning I could understand it, but they aren't. They haven't made the 1-AA playoffs since 94 or 95 in a very weak OVC. On the other hand, Western seems to snag some of the state's top kids, many of them in Richmond's backyard...........and they win. This is the reason the crowd at home games in Richmond is so bad now, a losing team with a bunch of players no one knows about. Just to mention a few of the kids I am talking about: Ronnie Letcher (Madison Central) Braxton Miller and Trent Calhoun (Lincoln County) Brandon Smith (Boyle County) Rod Johnson and Clark Jeter (Henry Clay) Tyrell Hayden (Lexington Christian) Sam Sexton (Southwestern) Justin Haddix (Breathitt County) Brandon Mason (East Jessamine) This is just a few I can remember off the top of my head, but I think it is pathetic.....

When do you think Lexington will compete?
The WLEX poll is for local teams and mostly for the viewing area of central KY. This poll is not even in the same ballpark as the Cantrell or AP polls....

Top concerns for 07
For Madison Central: 1) Replace a small senior class, but one that had key contibutors at many positions. Almost all skill positions return so scoring points won't be a problem. 2) Get more physical and a lot tougher. A leader on defense must emerge who has a bit of a mean streak. 3) Learn to stop the run. That has killed the Indians in the playoffs the last couple of seasons and if this doesn't improve then early exits are going to continue. This has been a major issue and all refers back to point #2.

When do you think Lexington will compete?
In regards to Diogenes post: has any of the Big 3 lost a game to any other Louisville school outside of the Big 3 in the past 8-10 years? Manual beating Male in 02 (?) is the only one I can think of. Bottomline is Trinity is the best of the Big Three (and distancing itself with each title), and the Big Three is better than all other 4A (6A) football in the state regardless of geography.....
