  1. It sounds like the questions isn't wether to fire Coach Reinhart or not, but a question of wether a teaching job should be made for a coach. Private schools like Brossart generally have a tighter budget than many public schools. Teaching positions should be given to the most qualified teacher and not to someone for a coaching position. As a parent that has paid the tuition for private schools and a parent of high school football players, I would not feel confortable with a school inventing a position for a coach or giving a teaching position to a less qualified canidate becasue they are a coach. I feel it was a bad choice of Coach Reinhart to talk to his players before a decision was made. In my opinion, it could cause the players to try to put pressure on the parents to persuade the school to employee their coach as a teacher. In the end, if Coach Reinhart is a qualified teacher and a position is open, then hire him and keep him as coach. I understand that a parents first priority is their family. If Coach Reinhart needs to leave Brossart to support his family, that is the right decision. But don't play the game of "hire me or I will leave". Make your position clear to the administration at Brossart, and don't involve high school players before your decision is made.
  2. I think that Holy Cross will pull this one out. I think that Holy Cross is alot better that people give them credit for, but Beechwood is always Beechwood. This game will be close and it will come down to whoever whats it more. I think that Beechwood realizes that the Holy Cross, this year, is not the typical H.C. team. If both teams come out to play this one will be good. Looking forward to a good game.
  3. I heard one of the o line players for HC was injured in the scrimmage against CovCath and that could be why the o line looked a little weak. Any information?
  4. I was not aware that the player we lost last year was obese. What was his weight & height? Were most of these players lost tragically considered obese?
  5. When did Covington HC play Carroll County this year?
  6. Wonderful game to watch. I look forward to the match up of these two teams in future years. Lloyd needs to give their biggest fan (older gentleman in the stands) an award. I was almost as entertained by his excitement as I was the game.
  7. Great job NCC, keep it up. We're proud of our Northern Kentucky teams.
  8. Great 4 years HC seniors, we'll miss you! Good luck NCC! Hope you take it all.
  9. Congratulations to the Cov Cath !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. I'm really not sure why it is a tax thing about Ohio students coming to Holy Cross or any other private school. As far as I am aware, private schools are not receiving your tax dollars anyway, even though we are paying equal amount of school taxes as you are. All public school systems would be in a panic if all of the students in private schools in Kenton County suddenly decided to enroll in public schools. Sending our children to a private school is our choice, but remember, we are paying the same school tax as you are and our children are paying tuition to private schools. I don't even mind paying for public schools, but it would be nice if our tuition was tax deductible.
  11. I do not have all the information on this subject, but as a Holy Cross parent, my youngest son was blessed to receive a partial, 4 year academic scholarship to Holy Cross High School. It had nothing to do with his athletic skill. He qualified with grades, teacher recommendations, and an essay. Even with this scholarship, I pay more in tuition than out of district students at Beechwood. All the parents I know at Holy Cross send their children for reasons other than sports. It is academically a wonderful high school, and my husband and I chose to send our children to Catholic Schools for the spiritual atmosphere. Although my children play sports at Holy Cross, they will not make a living off of sports. I do believe, however, the education they receive from Holy Cross will give them the foundation they need for a productive future. About students coming from Ohio to play in Kentucky. If we measure mile for mile, I would bet there are children at other schools traveling further to their out of district school, than the students from Ohio would travel to Holy Cross. So, are you saying that because they drive across a river to come to school it should not be allowed? Seems a little silly to me. Just my opinion.
  12. Yes. Holy Cross has academic rules that are strictly enforced and will affect some players.
  13. He is still on the team. However, the team is working with a couple of other quarterbacks.
  14. Holy Cross's quarterback is not too old. He is a freshman. Don't know where that rumor got started. New Richmond cancelled the game this week, but Holy Cross Freshman are practicing and ready for the championship game.
  15. Great to see the Champions of 1966 last night. It was a nice tribute.
  16. Yes, Holy Cross is that good this year. I think Holy Cross finally deserves a little more respect. They are true contenders to be taken seriously. Twenty two seniors will lead the way this year with great coaching. Give them the credit they deserve.
  17. May God's Grace surround you. You're in our prayers
  18. Holy Cross Freshman 3-0 (4-0 if you count forfeit from Bracken County)
  19. The Indian player, Vince Nirone, is also doing well. He injured his ankle, but no fracture. I am glad neither player suffered serious injuries.
