I agree with you. Players do often times become spectators behind the play. Therefore, if they would still be able to legally earhold, it would reinforce the coaching aspect of never becoming a spectator on the football field. If a clean hit is dangerous, we wouldn't be allowed to play the game. No player is defenseless. They are all wearing equipment and they all have the ability to keep their field awareness at a heightened level.

It is a penalty that is only a few years old that simply takes away another opportunity for contact on the field. If a hit is clean between the whistles, it should be allowed. However, it was a penalty. It was a penalty that I think is one more thing that is making the game softer, but it was a penalty.

I think they were definately the best two teams in 2000, and the only way to have known would have been head to head. In 98, Highlands was by far the best team in the state.

I totally agree. Dixie is better than quite a few of the teams in that top ten list in AAAAA. I think that you will have problems convincing a lot of people that three out of the top five are in the same district.

Really, I haven't looked at all the teams left in A. Are there any teams left that have been historically competative at the state level? Except of course for Beechwood.

Are you saying for the season, or in the playoffs? Are they playing NCC or Cov? Are you looking at a season like 91 when there was an undefeated season, but no competition whatsoever once they made the playoffs. What teams are left in A that have traditionally been able to compete with Beechwood?
