Shaun Alexander was the best back....

 

I'd liek to extend the list though by adding Scott Russell of Evarts (Former Mr. Football), Doug Howard of Belfry (the best HS RB I have ever seen including some of the names on that list), and Sonny Collins (UK great).

 

Also, Michael Bush is listed as a RB, but keep in mind he made his name in HS as a QB and WR. Bush became a great RB, and is without a doubt one of the best HS players in Kentucky history hands down... but I would put him on other lists and not this one.

Ya gotta throw Victor Anderson into the mix.

There are lots of names on that list because they are recent. However, I would contend that Sonny Collins would be among the top 2 or 3 if not 1.

If you are talking in terms of overall success, it would have to be Shaun Alexander.

 

Someone left of this list I feel needs to be on here for being a great "High School" back is Lawrence Co.'s Micheal West. He was an amazing talent on the field and if Im not mistaken had 3 2,000 yd rushing seasons.
