I may be a bit of a homer but I want to throw Shawn Robbins name in the mix based on his high school career.

02(Sophomore)- 12 games 1655yds 21 tds

03(Junior)- 10 games 2119yds 26 tds (12 ypc on the season)

04(Senior)- 12 games 2625yds 34 tds

I remember his senior year very well (Having been at every game) He only had touches in the 2nd half of 3 games that year (Regular season loss @ Prestonsburg, @Ashland in the playoffs, vs. Highlands in the state semis)

Shawn also ranks near the top in a few of kentuckys all time records.

11th in total points

10th in total touchdowns

7th in rushing yards

6th in rushing touchdowns

Joe Casey from PT was pretty good and a 1st team all USA TODAY in 03 in the same backfield as Peterson from OU.

I am a homer for Shaun Alexander. Any mention of Artuse Pinner (sp). Do not know what ever happened to him, but I think he made it to the NFL. I remember him from AAA state championship game against CCH. He was a load.

Did anyone see Bubby Lewis for Fleming Co. before he blew out his knee in a scrimmage his senior year. Truly a special back. Had he played in a more media friendly part of the state you folks may be talking about him. Can I get an Amen! from someone in the Flemingsburg area. I have a feeling most in the state don't even know about him. Look at the record books at what he did during his soph. and junior seasons.

I think it would be a nice idea to do as follows:

Allow the members of this site to recommend running backs who they feel are worthy of top 25 All time honors.

Take the top 50-100 tailbacks after there has been adequate time to deterimine who is in that class. Then let the members of this site vote on the top 25 All-Time, as ranked from best to 25. If 25 seems to unmanageable, go for the top 10.

Have the discussion continue for the rest of the season, with a vote near the championship games. After the vote comes in, have the GURU honor the top 10-25 that have been honored by Bluegrasspreps from Papa Johns stadium at halftime

It could be a neat honor and would certainly get Bluegrasspreps even more attention.
