Does anyone remember a Chris Jones from Danville or Boyle. Maybe not the greatest but he sure was fast.

Chris Jones played for Danville from 1975-1977.

He was All-State in '76 & '77.

He was Parade All-American in '77.

Signed with Curci and UK and was the leading Freshman Rusher in the SEC in '79. Destroyed his knee the next year in about the 3rd game and never played another snap of football.

I don't know if he belongs on this list or not but he was a special RB for the Ads during Steele Harmon's tenure. His last 2 years the Ads finished 10-2 and 11-2 I think. Both times they lost heartbreakers in the Regional finals to Shelby County.

Any and every vote ends with Shaun. Is there really a need to debate???

I think you are probably right. But for all the people who cry against a Dan Marino or the like who "can't win the big one," does that detract from Shaun Alexander's legacy.

For the record I would say not, but often people sight such things. :thumb:

Did the Howard from Belfry kid pay in the same backfield with David Jones?

I rememberthembeating Owensboro Cath. without throwing a pass. An amazing game.

Yes, he was #3, and the guy in my avatar. That year Belfry rolled up 526 yards on the ground. Howard had 279 & 3 TDs, Jones 176 & 1 TD, and Gary Childers (FB) had 76 yards.

Actually, that's 531 yards between those three. I don't remember anyone having a negative run either.

stickymitts: High school only.

onetoya: Al Baker is on the list.

punttheball: Artose Pinner is listed with the Minnesota Vikings this year. He was a load.

Sandman32: I saw Larry Schrieber play his senior year in college. I did not know that he had played HS ball at Dixie.

I suppose it is because his career was so long ago (1949-1952) that Paul Hornung does not receive more attention. He had size (6 ft. 2 in., 215 lbs), speed, guile, and toughness.
