BOLD PREDICTION:

 

Logan Armstrong steps in at Quarterback in his senior season and the Cardinal QB throws for 1,000-yards on offense and makes more than 100 tackles on defense to help lead the Cards to their 8th state championship. The Cards have a hard fought battle with Beechwood at War Memorial Stadium here in Mayfield during the sub-state game but win it on a 45-yard FG by Tommy McNutt as time expires and then the Cards beats Pikeville in the state championship game.

I agree, those 2 will be prohibitive favorites most years, but, there are others, like LCA, Pikeville, Frankfort, Holy Cross, Raceland, who'll have good teams and sometimes very good teams, that'll contend.

Mayfield will play in the state championship game every year until they do away with six classes.
