There is NOTHING, which is not good in and of itself. Mostly lawsuit.

Obviously they won't be immune, we will continue to have the same ruling system, and we will continue to have rulings that have teeth for some areas, schools, and students, and we will continue to have rulings that have no teeth for others. As standing, we simply just have another political burocracy. Supreme court justices hold their seat for life. District judges that make these rulings in our state do not.

Once again, I do not understand how the court should be able to intervene in KHSAA affairs. The organization will never have any power as long as a judge is allowed to decide the merits of its rulings. For example, do you think that a Campbell County district judge would ever find in favor of the KHSAA when they have ruled a player say from a school like Highlands ineligable. I don't think so.

There is only one way to eliminate the what ifs. Some will always be hurt by the process. There is no favortism when you simply say it is the same for all.

So once again, what if a child leaves due to the fact that he was disciplined by his coach and he didn't like it. Athletics are about life lessons, not selling a kid out to the highest bidder. It should be one year mandatory, no exceptions.

There was no special call given by the head coach. The PC kids were trying to cause a fumble and get a scoop and score. The game isn't over till the clock ticks out, especially when you are down by one score. I am sorry to hear that the quarterback was injured, and I will pray for a speedy recovery.

Yes, because it is a matter that the legislature should not have to deal with.

So ultimately, since the courts are going to have the final say in high school athletic eligabiliy, why not just have the legislative branch of our state government make up eligability rules with our governor having veto power. Then we would have the check and balance system that everyone seems to want. These are not issues that should require an appeal go any further than the board of control. That is why the organization is there. The Supreme Court is there to hear judicial matters, the problem is that we tend to want to make EVERYTHING a judicial matter when we don't get our way.

From who's point of view? If everyone had to sit out a year for transfer no matter what the situation, there could be nothing more balanced and fair. Money wouldn't be deciding the issue and politics wouldn't be deciding the issue, both local and in state.

The ruling was made, the appeal was taken to the body of the organization which is the board of control, the appeal was denied. I simply feel if that is not the end of the appeal process, then the organization has no true power over athletic eligability in this state.

Ru, you are not talking about being behind the eight ball. You are talking about a tranfer rule that states your eligability should be lost for one season. I don't understand what can be more fair or clear. Reasons for transfer, academic or athletic, shouldn't make a difference. If you want to switch schools in this state, that is supposed to be part of the package. It is unfair that those that have the best ability to take it to the courts are the ones that get themselves out of the rules set by the organization.

I don't think the courts should have their hands in high school eligability. If you don't follow the rules and descisions set out by the KHSAA, you shouldn't be playing in member events. If not, the organization has ZERO power.

Why do you have to prove the above statement. The KHSAA made a ruling. It should be followed. If not, what is the point of having the organization?

I have seen Lex Cath play Harrison County. I have seen Highlands scrimmage Male, play Ryle, and play Cov. The speed of the two teams don't match up very well across the board. I would say Highlands by at least three scores.

I have seen Lex Cath and I have seen Highlands. This will likely get ugly.

I thought they gave Beechwood plenty of love.

Thats the problem. I would have to and should under current conditions. The problem is, if I am on his team, I am Upset in the least that my tailback is missing a week of doubles. Other kids parents sometimes feel the same way. Why can't my kid miss to see his girlfriend when your superstar gets to miss to go play baseball? These are the kinds of rifts that it creates, especially when you are trying to establish accountability in a program that doesn't already have it. When I was in high school, my head coach didn't allow doubles to be missed for baseball for this reason.
