Basketball is allowed to have practice in June and July, not to mention the large amount of camps that they go to where they compete as a team.

Im not a Highlands fan, but Highlands has AAA enrollment. The comparison you are trying to make would be like combining Highlands and NewCath, which both are in Campbell Co.

I suppose I didn't make my point in a clear fashion earlier. Baseball is played by high school teams all summer. They play in leagues that are not associated with the school, like knothole. Football is the only sport that you can't play without being part of the school. Like I stated earlier, I would be happy to give up spring ball if the summer was reserved for fall sports.

Haven't you made the point before that football coaches should excuse players from practice who play on select teams during their tournament time? Also, it is school basketball that competes for time during summer practice, which is clearly Football season as far as the school system should be concerned. Baseball occurs all summer. Most school teams play together, they are just playing in different leagues. I would gladly give away spring ball if the summer was reserved for fall sports only.

I disagree. Basketball and baseball are issues in the same manner to football during the summer.

I think it was a concession to track and baseball coaches when they wanted to bring it back. They wanted it to occur as early as possible, to interfere with their practices as little as possible.

I would say that should be the concensus without a blink of an eye.

I think that there are a few that work extremely hard. As long as they can only take the students that live within their district, they will be behind on the state level. Every time a school get up to around 1700 in this area, we build a new school. For instance, I am pretty sure that a student approache Ryle about attending last season who was moving in around independence. He was told that they could not accept him while living out of district, so he went to another school in the area that could accept him out of district. Any way you would like to add it up LN, those kids make a difference.

When you say multiple state championships, are you aware that Lloyd, Bellevue, and Ludlow in NKY have all won state? Plus the obvious crew. Obiviously we are talking about a lot fewer schools that the entire Western side of the state. As far as AAAAAA goes, there aren't any schools in the state that have 2000 boys, let alone 3000. That doesn't change the fact that they took a beating the only year that the North and West were aligned in the playoffs. Also, the "smaller schools" like Cov and Highlands out of NKY have both beaten the schools who you are claiming have 3000 boys. Of course,there is no doubt, their student draws can be very simular.

Are you serious? I am certainly not a fan of these programs, but how many small town schools in Western Kentucky can compare to Beechwood or Highlands? As far as AAAAAA goes as bad as NKY has done against Louisville in the last ten years, it has been much worse out of the West. How bad did Ryle whip teams from the West a couple of years ago on their way to the whipping that they took against Trinity?

I would have to look at their addresses. I can name one for certain, but I am doubting that there were not more than five from Bellevue, Newport, Southgate, Silver Grove, and so on..., all of which are not Ft. Thomas. Lets also remember Highland Heights on that list.

I would have to disagree. That would mean that there are only about five kids a year in the program that didn't live in Ft. Thomas. Reguardless of which, their drawing area is much larger than 17, 000 residents. However, they are historically the best team in the state of Kentucky.

Ft. Thomas has one of the best football team in the state, no doubt. However, please don't try to act like they draw from 17,000 people. The Northern Kenucky area has a few more people than that.

I don't think it has as much to do with a chip on anyone's shoulder as it does playing under the same circumstances and rules. Obviously, you disagree LN. However, for playing under those hinderances that they have to play under, Ryle's athletic program has been pretty sucessful. And by hinderances, I mean the rules that I believe every school who competes in the KHSAA should have to abide by.

Your right. They don't have open enrollment, and they are not allowed to take tuition students, so you are right by your:D, they obviously are missing some things.

That is not what I have been told by people on that staff.

I agree. I believe that we should be worried more about seeing that the cheaters are properly punished instead of worrying about a public vs. private issue. Outrage is justified.

No comparison in scheduling. Whether who was undefeated was not a question. Highlands had a very basic scheme this past year. It would be very tough to tell. There would be no comfortable margin of victory between either team.

I can understand your discontent, and it does sound like the coach was not fullfilling his responsibilities. However, the Owen county team that I seen in seven on sevens, and on film, was a team that didn't have very much speed. I am not saying that they couldn't have been competative in their schedule, I am just saying that their talent pool wasn't extravigant. It takes an extremely talented football team to be able to say that a lack of talent has nothing to do with a lack of sucess.

How is their team speed? How is their strength?
