cooperstown
They have hired an offensive coordinator, so that is a big plus. Unfortunately, they lost a lot of senior talent on offense, including QB, RB, a few WR's, TE, and a couple lineman. They will have to go with a sophomore QB, who will be solid one day, but still has a ways to go. There is certainly some quality underclassman returning, but there didn't appear to be an overflowing amount of talent at the JV level on offense, as that team struggled throughout the year. So offensively, it'll be interesting. The defense lost some seniors also, but also returns some very strong players throughout. The JV defense faired better than the offense and has some solid talent coming up through the ranks. I look for a solid defensive club next year, but may take some time for the offense to get its feet under them.

tcjkbt
This is a comment from a Trinity fan who has observed Ryle in the last two playoffs but at no other times. Ryle seems to have the commitment from their community, and talented players. This may be simplistic but I think Ryle needs to open up their O a bit. They showed a good passing game against T in the 2007 playoffs but, from what I hear, had to be dragged scratching and clawing into it. I think Ryle might be on course to become very good but I admittedly do not know the dynamics of the school or the area.

With the addition of some coaches that are offence minded. It appears that they are trying to develope a QB WR combo that will be here for at least the next 2 years. That is certainly a non-coaches opinion. I am looking foward to the next season. It looked to me that we got a small glance of what is to come the very last few games of this past season and I stress a small glance before anybody jumps on me. There are some players at Ryle who have bright future ahead of them.
JOHNDUNHOFT
I don't know the name of the Offensive Coordinator however, very good and has experience. As for the QB I heard he is going to be a great one with some work and reps. I am looking forward to this year with the Raider's. JD

cshs81
OC is Nate Roeding. Good for Nate. I didn't know he was an offensive guy, too.
The sarge
Good to hear the they are looking to be a little more offensive minded. That will help with the class coming up.

Maybe being weak at tailback will force more passing. What is the history of the new OC? When Ryle did pass this last season, the most I saw were simple, two receiver routes with a TE on a late release. That's just not going to work. cooperstown
I look for 2009 to be the year that they really shine. Well, I'm not ready to give up on 2008 quite so soon myself! They'll be young in spots, but certainly not without talent. Boone lost a lot of senior talent and Conner will also be young, so Ryle will still compete very well within their district. I do think a lot will be riding on their defense initially, which is good because I think it'll be their strength early on. Number1Fan - Don't you have some bad guys you should be chasing down or something?

It was not a problem with personnel, it was an issue with schemes. Benke could throw with most any QB in NKY. They had a stud TE and some quality WR's. That's why I feel a new OC should hopefully bring in a change of mentality and get away from the Boone County run-run-run mindset that has also developed at Ryle. Not saying we need to throw 30 times a game - we don't - but it needs to be more balanced. And given some potential thinness at RB, perhaps that will be another impetus for doing so. I am pretty sure he was a Defensive Coordinator at Cov. Cath at one time and I think he went to Newport but I am not sure. I don't know if he coached last year or not.
