  1. How about the Talking Heads "Psycho Killer?"
  2. That is a very general statement with very little detail. Please explain.
  3. Nichols didn't lead Ryle in receptions or yards recieving last season. It would be extremely nice if some of your statements were grounded in reality.
  4. These claims are a load of crap. X was an excellent Ohio football team last year. Doesn't X have one state championship throughout their history and Elder two? Being a good football team isn't measured the same way in Ohio because there is much more paridy between teams in every class. At least their has been since the Catholic schools decided that their students had to play on their own side of the river around greater Cincy.
  5. It sounds like the players at Dayton need a lesson on who is in charge of a football team. If players want to backtalk coaches, act in an unsportsmanlike manner, or any other negative context, they should be punished with conditioning, lack of playing time, and eventual suspention from the team. Numbers don't equate to wins, and they certainly don't equate to young men learning the lessons that the sport of football should teach you. It is not a rare thing that young men would prefer not to be under the first adult that has ever attempted to institute discipline into their lives. It is human nature.
  6. Defend it however you want. Schedule padding does nothing for your program. If you don't see a difference between New Cath and Lloyd you may want to widen your scope on reality.
  7. First of all, there is a big difference scheduling the number one team in 2A vs. a team that has less than 30 in their program. Secondly, there is no guarantee that Conner makes the playoffs this year. Ryle, SK, Campbell, and Boone will all have something to say about that. Who knows, Cooper may have something to say about it as well. Playing teams like Highlands, Cov Cath, Henry Clay, Middletown, Scott County, and New Cath far better prepare you for tough NKY competition than South Oldham, Scott, and Lloyd. Their scheduling, as I stated earlier, is a joke. It will be likely that they will have a winning record and not make the playoffs. Congrats.
  8. They are in a 6A district playing 6A competition in the playoffs, if they make it. That won't happen until realignment. Reguardless, how does playing a 2A school with 26 players help a 5A school?
  9. The ducking wasn't my point. I am sure that if Highlands wants to play T, then there will be a spot on the schedule where these two schools could make it happen after realignment. As you know, a two year contract term is ending this year which will allow for multiple schedule changes. If Highlands moves to 4A where there playoff competition will change drastically, I think it would be foolish to play more than two or three of these caliber teams during non-district play.
  10. Conner needs to change their schedule. Their current one is ridiculous. What is the point of a 6A school playing a non-ranked 2A school with under 30 player?
  11. Lets also be realistic. It isn't in Highlands interest to play more than a couple of really large, physical schools a year. It is excellent to play a couple of non district teams that test you, but your goal is still a 5A state championship. Therefore, you don't want to play a non-district schedule that is so grueling that you are putting starters in the tub by playoff time. I don't blame Dale for playing a couple of tough ones a year, but playing a little less physical schedule on a few also. Why would Highlands want to have a schedule like Colrain, X, Louisville X, Trinity, and Ryle for non district? It is too much. BTW, I put Ryle on that list due to the physicality of the game.
  12. It is this simple: A coach is not going to keep someone on the schedule who will run up the score as heavy as possible if they have his kids outmatched. You come with a very narrow viewpoint that hasn't spent much time on the other end of that situation.
  13. You are correct. You must be meaning when the reverse was ran with 20 seconds left in the game to score the 88th point. Highlands really needed that work on reverse to get that last touchdown. It wasn't running up the score. There is no alibi for actions like that except to call it what it is. :eyeonyou:
  14. That is a lame argument if there ever was one. It is classless to put up 70-80 points on teams throwing the ball with division one sophmores in the second half of games. That team was one of the largest reasons that there is a running clock rule in our state today. I also think that Dale realized that he alienated several teams from scheduling Highlands with that season, and has used a different policy for the last several seasons. Sorry, but they most certainly had plays in the book to hand the ball off, and Saturday mornings most certainly provide a jv quarterback an opportunity to throw the ball. As far as NCC goes, I don't see them scheduling Highlands any time soon. They are already not renewing with Ryle on the new contract. I don't see how playing Highlands has an upside for them, including the fact that they are a private school who draws players from some of the same areas as Highlands.
  15. I think you are confused by the Liberal and Conservative label vs. the Democrat and Republican label. Not all Republicans are conservative, just as not all Democrats are Liberals.
  16. You think the birds handled Ryle? Up at half and two turnovers that led to scores don't spell a handleing, but they did win that time. If the question is how much better is Highlands than Cov Cath, the answer is much better.
  17. They shook hands and both acted with respect and class.
  18. But if he wants to be a coach, which he does, he has one of the best paying jobs in this state doing it.
  19. He makes financial sacrifice compared to what other job?
  20. Obviously not anybody because Eicher didn't win state with at least 2 NFL players on his team. However, I think at least 50% of the head coaches in this state could win one at Highlands within four years.
  21. And as I just said, there are very few coaches that could replicate Dale's sucess. However, I think that there is a much higher number that could win a AAAAA state championship at Highlands if they had four years to coach there.
  22. How many coaches, since the championship has been established, have been at the helm at Highlands without winning one? I thought it has been only one, but maybe I am wrong. As far as keeping them at the sucess level they have achieved in the last twelve years, I would agree with you.
