4A Championship: Ryle vs. Trinity
As much as I would love to see Ryle pull off this victory, I agree with Trinity alum on the outcome. Trinity 35-21.

Is Ryle the best team in NKY?
This is a retarded thread. Is Ryle the best team in NKY? We'll never know since they did not play CovCath or that one school in Ft. Thomas (scrimmages and comparing similar opponents do not count). This is like trying to argue that the Bengals would have won the Super Bowl if Carson Palmer did not get hurt. We'll never know. In my opinion, they can lay claim to being one of the best this year due to were they are at now and what they've accomplished this year. Also, Murray's comparison to Justin Frisk is much closer to a comparison to Shaun Alexander. I played against both and I can vouch for that.

Coach Matney's comments revisited...
The public/private debate is absolutely ridiculous. Except in 4A, it is not like a private school is winning a state championship every year. Even in 4A, Male competes, and beats, regularly with Lou. St. X and Trinity. Yes CovCath is having a great year, but it is not like they win a state championship every year. This is the first time they've been to the state final in a while. CovCath has had stretches were they've struggled with public schools here in NKY, Highlands before this year, Dixie and Beechwood for a couple a years, and Boone Co. in the late 80's/early 90's. Even NewCath here in NKY finally broke through Beechwood's stanglehold on NKY 1A. The Guru made this comment in the before mentioned thread, "how about checking out some football in Ohio if you want to see how public high schools are right there with private high schools". He is absolutely right. The Ohio D1 final this year is Mentor vs. Hilliard Davidson, both public schools. This final is missing Cin. St. X, Elder, Lakewood St. Edward, and St. Ignatius.

Ryle/Dixie: The Rematch
With or without Bricking, Dixie will win this game. Dixie's defense and running game will be the deciding factor. Ryle should expect Molony to get more than the 15 carries that he got last week when he averaged over six yards a carry. Dixie by more than a touchdown.

Simon Kenton at Dixie Predictions
I'm taking Dixie in a low scoring game, 13-7. Even thought there offense does not impress me, they fly to ball on defense and that should be the difference.

Dixie 35 Scott 0
I was standing right there on the sideline on that punt, and I didn't think that the ball ever hit a Dixie player. It was close, but it looked to me to hit the turf and took a bounce. Honestly, I thought the worst call of that game was the one where the Scott punt that was mishandled by the Dixie returner on the 2 or 3 yard line and went into the endzone. He went back and got it and barely got out the endzone, but after the play was over, the refs got together and called it a touchback due to the ball going into the endzone. I thought it should have Dixie's ball deep in their territory instead of at the 20. I was not overly impressed with Dixie's offense, but the defense looked real good. The QB for Scott had to be incredibly sore this past weekend with the number of hits he took in the pocket, and I think either #20 or #34 hit him everytime he dropped back to pass. I was told at halftime that Scott had -2 yards.

Scott vs. Dixie Predictions
I feel your pain. I ran my mouth before the season going on how Dixie was returning all of these starters, and they were going to make a run this year in the playoffs. What sucks is I work with several Elder and Highlands blow hards, and I have been eating crow the last couple of weeks. Hopefully, this year's team resembles last year's team, and they start a nice run by putting a beating on Scott and go on to win another district title.

Scott vs. Dixie Predictions
Scott only beat Carroll Co. by 6, and you think they're going to beat Dixie by 14. That is the funniest thing I have seen today. Thanks. Dixie will win this one by at least three touchdowns.

Hey Dixie Fans!
I'm sure that no one associated with remodeling the field cares about the comforts of the visitor stands, or whether or not the visiting team can find enough seating. BTW, Coach Browning told me a couple of weeks ago the home side seats 2,300 and the visitors section seats 700.

If you could only attend one game this weekend (9/1/06 edition)
The thread was for which intrastate game would you attend, other than your favorite team, and why. It wasn't specifically stating which top ten teams would you see. Though Ryle is not currently ranked within the top ten in 4A, if they can beat NCC (which I think they will), they stand a good chance of running the table with the rest of their schedule and finishing 9-1. NCC is obviously a top ten team in their respective class.

If you could only attend one game this weekend (9/1/06 edition)
Since I can't take the Highlands-Elder game or the Dixie-CCH game (due to my natural allegiance to Dixie), I would like to see the Ryle-NCC game. Both teams have a lot of expectations, and this should be an evenly matched up game.

Dixie @ CovCath Predictions
As much as I hate to say this, CovCath 42-0

Highlands vs. Elder
There was one Colerain fan that predicted Highlands to win, and he called it an upset. I can't believe some idiot on Yappi actually predicted Elder to win by 30. I'm taking Highlands in a close game.

Covington Catholic at Elder (OH) Predictions
It is tough for the better D1 programs in Ohio to schedule games due to the Harbin Ratings. Most schools in Ohio do not want to schedule St. X, Elder, and Colerain because they don't want those losses to come back and hurt their chances on making the playoffs. So these teams are forced to play out of state teams and the other top programs up state. For the second straight year, Cincy St. X has been rated as having the toughest schedule in the nation. They play two teams ranked in the top 5 of USA Today's Super 25 poll in the first month of the season.

Covington Catholic at Elder (OH) Predictions
The Pit is one of the best venues I have ever seen. I've seen some High School games in Texas and Florida, and there are only a few places that have what they have.

Covington Catholic at Elder (OH) Predictions
Dixie beat Lasalle a couple of years ago, too. BTW - I just noticed someone already mentioned this.

RYLE vs GLEN ESTE Predictions
I meant Glen Este, but 52-7 is a little ridiculous. I'm going to say Glen Este 20-7, with Glen Este pulling away late in the game.

Lloyd vs Scott: Eagles get first win of the year?
John - Good explanation on what has happened to Lloyd's program the last couple of years. If the Erlanger Lions can get several people like you to help out, they can once again become a dominating force in NKYFL and provide an excellent feeder program into Lloyd. Ben Hensley

6 Class System is NOT Watered Down
It is going to allow a lot of mediocre and poor teams to make the playoffs. I don't want to see an 0-10, 1-9, or 2-8 team in a playoff game, but that is inevitable now.
