"We are going to teach Ryle a very serious lesson."
giantkiller replied to theguru's topic in KY Football (High School)
If it was from a friend then it is second nature and therefore hearsay unless he said it to the Guru and the guru is leaking it out now. I was at the WKY camp and did not hear any confortation between Travis and this kid everyone keeps talking about, so it is probably 2nd hand as well. Either way Coach Bolden is a great coach and so are the guys on his staff, but Ryle has a great staff and it will be great to play a strong nationally ranked team like Colerain. We have teams who are in this state that run from playing highlands, and other traditionally good teams. Glad coach Warner is instilling a since of pride and backbone in the kids in Union. -

Do Any Schools Do Baseline Testing for Concussions?
giantkiller replied to Clyde's topic in KY Football (High School)
Just so you know Ryle has had all its football players take the impact test at the beginning of the July practices. Big loss in trainer he done alot for Ryle athletes. -
This is just a break down based on days only for basketball and football. Baseball has summer ball and fall ball and basketball has AAU. But when yuo break down these two look at it this way Football: July 16 days, Aug. has 31 days, Sept. has 30 days, October has 31 days, November has 30 days, Dec. 7 days = 145 days and 10 days of spring ball total of 155 days. Basketball has 16 days in October, 30 days in November, 31 days in December, 31 days in January, 28 days in February, and 20 days in March = 156 days Now basketball plays 28-32 + games in season, gets all of June, some play 30-50 games.

Coach Josh Stratton, has had coaching stints in Grant County, St.Louis and at Holmes. He is an offensive kind of guy but knows the complete game very well. He will bring a high octane and hard working attitude and will demand excellence from his players and his coaches, because he demands it of himself. He will run what his players talents are, he is not a system coach. I have said it earlier that if they will allow him to surround himself with strong assistants they will reap the rewards of this great young mind. He knows how to run an entire program and has got to work with some great coaches in his days and will be able to attract some guys to come work for him . Just a side note he has also coached basketball in Ohio, KY and was a head coach in St. Louis where he was the coach of the year in basketball in his region. He knows how to win and will instill a winning attitude in all the kids and people he is around because he is so energetic and full of enthusiasm. He knows the weight room and what it takes to be sucessful. Players be ready and be prepared to dedicate to being a better athlete and person because that is what will happen at Lloyd with Stratton.

No they will not be disappointed, they just landed a great coach, with the energy they need and the knowledge to bring them back to the days of old. If they will let him surround himself with some good coaches, they will wins alot of ball games. Best of luck to Lloyd and I will be rooting hard for them next year -
I have been told that his grades were not very good at Holmes and how does this transfer help his academics. He is a great prospect and hope it all works out but part of the life lesson we learn in this sport is to play by the rules and if the move is for sports purposes then he may be ruled ineligible by the KHSAA. I know that he needs a bon a fide change of address most importantly, sounds like that happened but how are his siblings still going to Holmes? Does Holmes have a tution rule? Just wondering, I have done alot of research on the subject and know that you have to get a waiver from the association. Best of luck to this young man and his family

One amazing day of basketball in the bluegrass. I was there and what an atomosphere. The place was rocking. Congrats to both clubs, the Vikings of Rowan played their hearts out and lost a tough one. I would say that the play call at the end is about as clutch as I have ever witnessed live. As far as the refs they called a pretty good game, three or no three it may or may not have changed the game. The call that I think hurt Rowan the most was the charging call on Townsend that should have been an and 1. Either way an amazing day of basketball. Congrats to Christian County on the title. -

You did not hit a nerve I am just tired of reading nothing but negative from you about the braves, I have said it before on other post from you to not watch if you do not like the style. These boys are busting their tale day in and day out and they don't need people on here bashing their efforts.
