Also heard that Shear from Bellevue has applied

Hiring anyone that has been on the current coaching staff would be a total mistake! Lloyd needs a new coach that will breath new life into the program! Lets hope the search is wide and we get a new look Juggernaut football team next year!

I don't know him, but didn't Lail lead the middle school team to the championship this year?

Why are you so down on the existing coaches? I realize that maybe a change is due but to assume that the current assistant's are not a viable option to replace Coach Lucas is absurd. Just because they were under Roy doesn't mean they wouldn't/couldn't do a good job.

BTW, more than changing the head coach on the football staff is needed to fix Lloyd. If you guys that are posting are from Erlanger, then you should know to what I am referring. If you don't, then you shouldn't be so adamant with what you opine. Such strong opinions without the facts make people less credible. JMO

I don't know anything about Shear but something doesn't seem right about the situation with him and the Bellevue gig. This may not be fair to say, but I think I may shy away from someone that was only at a school for one year. Like I said, something just doesn't seem 'right'.

There are a few good people involved with Lloyd Football that could carry the torch for the Juggernauts. Yes Lail led the 7th and 8th grade team to a Championship this past year. He did a tremendous job in just a short time he also was surrounded by two very good football people who had spent several year's with the Erlanger Lions program. Sidelinedoc is right there is more to it than just football coaches at Lloyd alot has to change in the school and community for it to survive. JD

The Holmes assistant was probably Ben Nevels he used to be an assistant at Lloyd.

My vote goes to Smitty.

He is a great candidate ... who will get the most out of the kids in Erlanger.

I would be willing to bet Lail enjoys his gig with the MS team right now.. Just won a championship first year in, prolly has some decent return players or even incoming. Get good competition in the MS league as well. Just a thought..

From what I heard Coach Lail put in for an assistant principles job also. He is a really good guy and likeable. JD
