Ryle's Coach Warner is not a teacher and has done well for himself, it all depends who is in the school that is on the coaching staff. Again it will be a tough decission to make by the committee. There are so many high school coaches in different sport's that are not teacher's and Lloyd has several coaches that are not teachers. JD

By the way, Vocke is the only player to come to BW in the last 12 years from Lloyd. Very smart move in my opinion. So they must be going elsewhere (ie Dixie, CCH, Simon, Scott).

Kid's are going to go where the parent's want them to go and it happen's everywhere today. With the Erlanger Lions kid's in several different area's kid's go to all different schools: Dixie, Boone, Simon Kenton, Ryle, Cooper, Conner, CovCath, Beechwood, St Henry and Lloyd. As for Vocke his mother at the time made a good choice. Now Lloyd must find a way to keep these kid's and hopefully the new coach will do this. JD

Here is a something for the LM faithful to chew on when thinking about Coach Shear. He started the season at B.H.S. last year with around 50 kids and ended the season with 46. Player retention is very important in building stability. He also will get in the hall ways and recruit new players. He will support the other programs along with football team. Being a coach there in Northern Ky with the Arena team speaks volumes of his desire to stay in that area so you know you will have a coach thats in it for the long hall. This also proves that he is one that will be highly involved in the community!

Would Dan Wooley be interested?

Does anyone know what the school is willing to do to attract an experienced successful coach? If anything? Sometimes a light teaching schedule is a strong selling point. Let's face it. If the coach has to build up the program he will need time focus on football duties as much as possible. Any thoughts? BTW I have been hearing they have a very strong candidate from outside the area. I don't know names for sure. I am curious if they have tried to attract this person to look into the position and if so how?

Does any one know when the interviews are being held? and who are they interviewing?

From what I have been told by a reliable source that 27 people have applied for the job and all packets had to be in on Monday, March 28th. Glad to see so many individuals applied for the position and show's there is interest in comming to Lloyd. As far as interview's I have not heard anything. JD

They need it to be a teacher...Warner is an exception to the rule, there are exceptions to every rule, ask Antonio Alfonseca...

 

Football and hoops needs to have someone that sees the school's population on a daily basis, and make sure he approached darn near every boy not playing in the band or soccer. The ball players need to know he is there and that their miscreancy will be found out within minutes by the coach, also the colleges coming in to talk to player, etc...help when you are a coach, more flexibility with time as to working a regular job, unless the coach doesn't work...but Warner is an exception much like AA

 

If I am a principal, my football and hoops coaches are teachers...math and science, or something analytical and conceptual...ask the folks in Ft. Thomas or in Holy Cross...these Social Studies and gym teachers and security guards are easy to figure out after awhile, because they're coordinators are often not the sharpest knives in the jar, much like them.
