Former Paintsville standout pitcher, Shane Grimm signed to play college baseball with Walters State Community College. Walters State, located in Morristown Tenn. is no stranger to a winning tradition. The Senators won the 2006 Junior College World Series and finished last season with a record of 55-9. In the June MLB draft, six players from Walters State were drafted. Grimm's high school pitching coach Walt Crace also attented Walters State. Grimm is currently a member of Ashland Post 76 American Legion team. Congratulations to S. Grimm. I hope he has a great career.:thumb:

Former Raceland RB/LB Steven Piercy will play college football for Wilmington College. Wilmington, located in Ohio, is a Division III football school. The Quakers went 2-8 last season and open their 2008 season on the road at Mt. St. Joseph on Sept 9. Congratulations to Steven and his Family!! I wish him the best.:thumb:

Congrats to the Bulldogs on the win. I hope you win it all!!! Hats off to coach Logan and his kids for a tremendous season. You guys gave area fans a lot of enjoyment this Spring and represented your community and school with class. The Shepard kid (Freshman) pitched a heck of a game and as Stick1 stated if he continues to work he has a bright future ahead.

First I want to say welcome to BGP Mr. Wildcat. Glad to have you aboard. Coach Ross did an outstanding job while at the helm and is the best coach to ever walk the Raceland sideline, but the Raceland Tradition was already in place. I do agree he is responsible for keeping the Orange Blood boiling but there are some other coaches who played key roles in making Ram Football what it is today. I'm not trying to take anything away from Coach Ross, as he is a great friend of mine and I have the utmost repsect for him not only as a coach but as a person as well. I just wanted to remember the coaches that came before him and IMO set the example for others to follow. Coach Conley had some outstanding teams during the late 60's and his teams were known for their tenacious defense. The early 70's were a little down until Coach Larry Heck got the torch burning again during the mid to late 70's. These coaches, along with Coach Ross, Snyder and Vanderhoof will always be remembered for their key roles in Ram Football history.

Congrats to GC. The Greenup County and Lawrence County matchup should be a dandy.

He had given a verbal to Morehead as a Jr. but I'm guessing he has had many looks since then. He is one of the most talented pitchers to come through this area in a long time. I think that there are some scouts that have seen him throw and liked what they saw. Given his attitude and work ethic, I think he has a great future ahead.

Congrats to GC on the win. Russell will come to battle so the Muskies must take them seriously. I'm sure Coach Logan and his kids will be ready for to meet the challenge. They are a very focused ball club.
