  1. Breathitt returns everyone except 3 linemen and a halfback. They have all the parts of a great season in tact. I believe in my opinion Breathitt is got to be one of the favorites to com out of the east in 07. They also seem to be in the weakest district in my opinion as well.
  2. I agree she was a huge part of the team last year, but the one thing that team lacked that this team has is depth. Breathitt has a7th grader in Kendal Noble that playes alot, and actually put up some pretty good numbers against Letcher Central tonight in the "Queen Of The Mountain" tourney. They have a sophmore in Brittany Haddix who starts alot, and plays well also. When they get Amanda Southwood back they will havee speed to run the fastbreak. Now I know Colette was a huge part and will be missed(me and her are pretty good friends) but the thing is this team has depth, and even though they don't have the "superstar performer" but have a team with alot of roll players. I don't care what anyone says Nicole Luttes can take over a basketball game and as of right now she is running the ship really well. I might sound like a homer but these Ladycats are really good.
  3. In my opinion it would have to be in 1996 when Breathitt came in against the states leading rusher Derek Holmer. In the first half Derek ran all over Breathitt. The second half was totally different, Breathitt shut them down and won in overtime. I can't remember the score...........Or maybe in 2002 when Justin Haddix lead Breathitt into Papa Johns needing 2 touchdown passes to own the state record for most touchdown passes in a season. Again Breathitt was playing against a killer running game in Corbin. Jared Lawson I believe the kids name was(#42) was completely shut down and Breathitt ran away with it 51-0
  4. Question: Was this a real physical game, and if so will that hurt Russell since Mercer seemed to have a cake walk in their game?
  5. Bobby Burton is about 5'8 and 210 pounds. I grew up with him, and I know he has the heart, but if someone heard that his frame played of the d-line they would think he would get whipped. Thats where the heart comes in. He plays like he is 6-4 290. He always has. If you talk to him tell him Casey said hi.
  6. That sounds like Bobby. I would love to see him get a ring. Even though I'm from Breathitt, I would lve to see Belfry go back and win one.
  7. Can anyone tell me how Bobby Burton did for Belfry. i was just wondering what kind of game he had. He use to go to Breathitt and was one of my best friends.
  8. I have heard that. I personally haven't seen this kid, but i hear he is taking the team by storm. They say he moved to Breathitt for personal reasons, but that very well could be a rumor. All I know is that from what people have told me he is amazingly quick, he has the size to play down low, has the ability to take over a game. From hearing that i would say this kid is the real deal. Again don't hold me to this as of right now (to me) this is just a rumor.
  9. I believe Casey Allen deserves atleast 2nd team. He is in my opinion the best all around lineman in the mountains in the class of 2007(graduating year)
  10. In my opinion Breathitt is #1. They only lost 1 player, and are bringing back a strong nucleous to last years team. They return 4 starters and another who played a great amount last season. Nicole Luttes, Brittany D. Moore, Tiffany Noble, and Amy Turner are all seniors. In the middle they have a force in Lenae Shouse who plays great on both ends of the court. This team has worked hard and has become a team that will change alot of people's minds. When this team is down in Bowling Green I for one will be right there with them. They have worked extremely hard and still have a bad taste in their mouths. Thats enough to drive a team throughout the season. GO LADYCATS!!!
  11. Congrats to the 4 seniors at Breathitt for helping get BHS back on the map. These 4 young men have made such an impact on the underclassmen, and it was a very special year in Breathitt County. Casey, Aaron, Shane, and Beckham good luck in the future. Casey we will see you playing on saturdays.
  12. The west has the offense, the east has the defense. Defense wins championships, and for the past several years thats exactly what has done it. 2002 Breathitt went into the game supposively with a defense that couldn't stop the Lawson kid from corbin, and ibelieve he finished with around 47 yards rushing. Breathitt won 51-0. Belfry, Russel, Middlesboro, Leslie, Prestonsburg all these teams have a pretty good defense. Not saying the west can't win it, because I honestly believe every team left in 2a is pretty even besides a few 3 seeds. 2a is up for grabs it's just who ever wants it the most, but I highly doubt that Mercer has played a team that is more physical than a Belfry or Russel
  13. Aaron Mullins is got to be at the top of the list here. Everyone he lines up against is a little bigger than him, but he always seems to get the job done. I talked to Casey Allen the other day and he said that he wouldn't know what to do if he didn't have is senior teammate Aaron Mullins beside him. A huge hearted cat is Aaron who not only makes holes for the running backs but also Punishes people when he is on defense.
  14. Beckham Herald from Breathitt does alot for the bobcats. He busts big runs and on defense he makes play after play. He has rushed for over a 1,000 yards and I think he has about 8 interceptions. Breathitt also has an outstanding lineman in Casey Allen. He makes the holes so Beckham can run through and he is also a huge force on defense.
  15. Casey Allen from Breathitt County is getting looked at by Pikeville College. I believe Aaron Mullins is being looked at as well.
  16. I think that Breathitt will be wanting to make a mark to finish out this incredible season they have had considering no one gave them a shot. I can see them picking themselves up just like they did after the Louisville Western game and get the ball rolling again. This team is going to be tough to beat in the playoffs. Plus this Friday is senior night for the bobcats. Alot of emotion this Friday at the River Bank. Good Luck BOBCATS
  17. I want to see these 2 teams play again. It was a great game friday night. I like the road that Breathitt will have to take. They most likely will have to go through Leslie again, then middlesboro, if they survive that they are looking at Belfry or Sheldon Clark, win that game play Russell, win that one play Mercer or Louisville Western what a road that is
  18. I don't understand how everyone is already writing M-boro in the regional championship. They haven't made it yet. They will most likely have to play Breathitt again, and I'm not so sure that the outcome will be the same. Just don't count your chickens before they hatch.
  19. Breathitt's o-line has been solid all year. Beckham Herald has 908 yards rushing at this point in the season. Thats pretty good concidering Breathitt is a Passing offense. Breathitt's offensive line is as followed: Casey Allen 6-1 300lbs. Aaron Mullins 6-2 215, Shane Salyers 6-0 275, Mike Turner 6-3 270, and Hunter Morgan 6-2 260. The thing about this is these boys have scored on several screen plays. They trap block extremely well, and love to punish people inside. 3 seniors and 2 juniors on the o-line. I honestly think that if Breathitt can establish the run and control the ball they will win. If the Bobcats want to do anything this year it rides on the shoulders of these 5.
  20. Here is what i think about the whole playoff format. In my opinion this would have been the regional championship game. Both teams in my opinion are a step ahead of any other team in the region. Them having to play twice once in district play and one in the second round is horrible. This would have been one of the better regional championship matchups. I am not saying teams in the region couldn't beat these teams but still yet i think they are the clear 2 favorites in the region at this point. I'm looking forward to Friday night in Jackson
  21. I'm sorry, but Middlesboro is getting a little taste of their own medicine. Everytime Breathitt has ever went to Middlesboro they have recieved "alot" of questionable calls........Anyways great win for Middlesboro. At this point I would have to say the region favorite will be the winner of next weeks game.
  22. Again for those who didn't get to see Corbin/Middlesboro game if u call Corbins defense better than Harlan's you would be wrong. Corbin could not tackle that night. It wasn't because Middlesboro made them miss, just simply they didn't wrap up. Diving at peoples legs for a tackle doesn't work when ur playing a team like Middlesboro. Wasn't the score at the end of the 3rd 42-42. Harlan is a 4 quarter team, and they won't stop playing no matter what. If Middlesboro is basing this game on schedule they are in trouble. I agree Middlesboro has alot more speed than Harlan, but you don't have to beat speed just slow it down. This is going to be a good one. 32-21 Middlesboro
  23. I seen the corbin/middlesboro game and from what i saw Corbin had a horrible night tackling. They had their chances, but didn't get it done. I think Breathitt's defense is one of the better defenses that Middlesboro has face. I also think that the confusion defense Middlesboro plays, plays into the hands of the bobcats' offense. However Breathitt's offense really needs to help the defense out in this one. In my opinion this will not only be one of the "games of the week" in the mountains, or 2a but state wide. Distyrict championship is up for grabs, the number 1 seed is up for grabs, not to mention this is a heated rival game. In my opinion, I think if Breathitt can put together a full game (like the second half they have played all year) Breathitt will win 28-14. If not then this could be a classic.
