Breathitt simply took care of business tonight. They ever lost the lead, and kept building on. Breathitt is going to be really hard to beat this rregion tourney. I believe it's Breathitt's to lose, but they can't tqake anyone lightly. Especially Leslie County, at the begining of the season i had these 2 teams as my favorites to win the region and I'm sticking to it. I think who ever wins Friday Night between these to programs will win the region. Go Ladycats!!!!!!(The Ladycats have been playing their best ball lately.Coming at a good time)

Brandon Hayes of Breathitt is in my opinion the most under-rated player in the 14th region. He can shoot outside and post up with anyone in the region. His defense is stellar and if not for his athletic ability Breathitt would not be in the situation that they are in. Brandon Hayes has had an awesome senior season. Not to mention he can do the dirty work as well(such as rebounding) He always gives 110% and leaves it out on the floor every night. I wish him the best of luck in the tourny and if anyone can lead a team to victory its this young man.....Good Luck Brandon Hayes

I can't figure out what strategy Wolfe County's coach had, when he had his players hold the ball at the top of the key for 2 minutes with only one shot while trailing by 15 in the second, and then again in the 4th when the game was getting out of hand. Just really confusing to me. Regardless great win for the cats. Lets see how region plays out.

Breathitt has a very deep team. Just imagine what kind of team if they would have had if they wouldn't have lost Colby Fugate and Aaron Combs. This team is highly ranked and some pick them to win region. I can't help but to think what could happen if those boys where still on the team. Good Luck Bobcats in region.

Travis Smith from Breathitt County. Best big man in the region and if not for him Breathitt would not be in the situation they are in right now.

Watkins will have a big night for the tigers where he is a senior, but the tigers will fall short by 19 points. Watkins can ball out, but the thing is he doesn't have much of a supporting cast. Good Luck to both teams.

14th region.....NICOLE LUTTES(Breathitt County) She is the best all around player in the region.

After a questionable foul on Justin Hollan in the first quarter, where a player tripped over his own feet and fell, Justin seemed to get a little angry and began to play like Justin can play. He was hitting everything last night. Ryan Allen also had a pretty good night. This game for the most part was close, but no one felt like Breathitt was going to lose, atleast i didn't. I thought it was a pretty physical game. In my opinion Breathitt needs to play with a little bit of fire come district and region time. If the boys in blue can play with a little bit of an attitude then this team could be very tough to beat. Good Luck in the next few weeks. Go Blue!!!!

Only 2 boys made it from the east side??? WOW, didn't expect that.

This class could be something to keep an eye out for if they stick together. I'm excited about the Pikeville College Bears.

How about Lenae Shouse from Breathitt County. 1-on-1 in the low post there isn't a single person in the region that can guard her. She is a force in the 14th region and will be dominate next year as well.

Combs hasn't played well the last few games. #12 or Channing Fugate, had a good game, he made some pretty nice moves towards the basket and is exactly what the team needs on the court. With the out side shooting of Brandon Hayes and Justin Hollan the drivves to the bucket by Fugate opens those guys up. Breathitt has played teams of late that have small line-ups. Which puts Smith and Combs on the bench for longer time periods. Now Ryan Allen is Breathitts best defender, and plays hard on both ends of the court. Coach Banks is winning ball games is the biggest thing. He has made Breathitt a contender because the boys have baught into his system, but maybe you are right. Maybe the chemistry this team had has sunk because some kids isn't getting the playing time their parents or themselves think they should get. I guess the only thing that can be said is, make the time you get on the court worth it. I think that Breathitt's season will come down to, who can decide to let their ego's go and play as a team and who will get mad when they don't get to play as much. (there is a senior on Breathitt's squade that doesn't even get to play a minute in ne game, think about how he feels, but yet he doesn't complain, he loves the sport of basketball, and he wants to win even if he doesn't get to play.)

Not to mention Ryan Howard

From what I have heard Casey Allen from Breathitt is for sure signing with them on monday, and I have also heard that Ryan Howard, and the Hubbard kid is signing with Pikeville on monday as well.If the boys from Johnson Central sign monday then Pikeville will also have a pretty good recruiting class coming in.

What happened to the boys from Johnson Central? Did they decide to go to Pikeville? Pikeville moved their signing day to this coming monday, be interesting to see who goes there.

Pikeville College moved their signing day to monday due to the weather.

Breathitt loses a first team all-stater in Casey Allen, and a honorable mention all-stater in Beckham Herald.

Breathitt played a tourney in Florida the week they played PCC. Being tired isn't an excuse in that game because both teams played alot that week. Breathitt had PCC down by 13 in the first game they played them in the 4th quarter and threw away the game. The second time Breathitt played them(the week that both teams played several games) Breathitt played the whole second half without Nicole Luttes(our best player) and beat PCC by 9 I believe. A notch or 2 above Breathitt is stretching it. Based on these 2 games/and the quality wins both have, Breathitt is in my opinion a little better than PCC.

I think the ladycats have set it on cruise control. They seem to have things going smoothly and when you watch them play, you never really get the feeling they are going to lose. They are very impressive. Seems to me alot of people's opinions have changed about these ladycats. At the begining of the season not many people picked Breathitt to win region(me and you nator were 2 of the few that said they would win it). I think Breathitt has to be the front runner to win region. Way to go ladycats, and good luck.

Casey Allen, and Beckham Herald from Breathitt County will be missed greatly.

I heard alot of good things about JBS and i hadn't seen them play until this past weekend. I wasn't impressed. They couldn't shoot the ball, and they had a hard time recieving passes and rebounds. Hazard to me if they play as good as they can they are at the top of the region this year. Breathitt has alot of talent and can make a run, and if Hollan is hitting the jumper Breathitt could take the title home. To me this region is so wide open that any team could win it. Buckhorn showed me alot as well. They can shoot the ball, but in my opinion they need a little more out of Zack Gay. Buckhorn is a contender as well. Can't wait to see this tourny.

JBS by 15+.......I don't understand they came real close from getting beat last night by Buckhorn. I will say this, Breathitt needs to stop believing in their hype because it could come back to bite them. Good win Letcher.

Way to go ladycats, huge win. I'm very proud of all of you.

To make a long story short, Breathitt destroyed them regardless who they put on the floor. Scoring 112 points in any game is impressive, and if this was expected by so many people then why are you making so big of a deal out of it. I'm sorry but good for Breathitt. If everyone is going to jump all over them over this, I guess we can just go ahead and call them the "bad boys" of high school basketball. I hope Breathitt wins region just so everyone can cheer against us at RUPP. This team is really deep and young, so get ready because Breathitt will hang a few banners in the coliseum.
