I think the Devils met expectations. Played thru injuries but against weak competition. Offense is dominate - in all areas and likely more than any 2a defense can handle... State Championship this year for Devils is based upon an overwhelming offense and a defense that is average up the middle and on containment but full of experienced kids who can play and rally to the football. Coaching always shines thru at Russell. Season starts in two weeks.... If Devils protect the football , they are going back to the box ... My only concern would be a close game late into the fourth ... other than Ashland we haven't had one ... Also have had no physical test on both sides of the ball all year .... If a physical test on both sides of the ball never comes .. start sizing the rings ....

.... BC is getting back on track and this time the right way ... forget about all the spread passing stuff at a school with generally big corn feed kids ... Ashland has two weeks left to become a physical team. If they cannot do this , another year will pass in Tomcat history that proves all the skilled players in the world cannot win in a game dominated by hand to hand blocking and tackling ... I am hoping for an Ashland victory against JC but looking at JC's fullback in the paper , I don't expect it ...

Kids do the same ... once the lower seed falls behind in these early games , they play like they are beat ... I agree , first round games are meaningless .. with exception everyone gets to feel good leading up to firiday night about being in the playoffs and that is likely what it's all about ...

Reviewed who you folks have played and points allowed .... really long trip .. To play with the devils need a physical defensive front 7 who can run and a secondary who can tackle 200 lb backs and also defend the pass ... Tall order for a road game on the Ohio River ...

What Corbin got ... Long trip for you folks ...

Dirty Joe .... is Mercer's lines and backers dominate physically or speed ... Really makes a difference come playoff time ... If you say both , you have a very good chance of going to the box ...

Goodbye to both Powell and Estill. Estill can brag in the old district they hammered the Devils in 2003 .... One of very few in that district that ever beat and engineers hammered us ... See you folks on down the rode ... after "that's another engineer first down "

To play with Russell , you folks will need to dominate lines of scrimmage. If cannot Russell skill players will run wild all night. Russell skill players are as good as much larger schools ... What is your makeup ?

East just doesn't have enough on either side of the ball to make this a game for longer than a half .... Lines and backers need to play into 4th - conditioning .. skills need to come out asap in third quarter ...

It's playoff time , I don't see anyway Devils lose in first two games ... Who will be coming here in third game ? Offense hasn't been challenged since Ashland .... Defense hasn't seen anyone strong enough to compete into second half ... What effects will this have one Devils in weeks 3 and 4 of playoffs ?

Let's get down to business , it's playoff time ... Who do you folks potentially face that will be a game ? For the Devils it will not come until week three of playoffs and likely be Corbin ... Your turn ..

Your kidding right .... Toe to toe or end to end Fleming doesn't beat us ... Estill manhandled us in 2003 , both lines , backs and linebackers .... Fleming has had big kids for years now and they stand up , make us look like Jim Thorpe All American or Run to Daylight .... Team that beats the Devils always does it at the line of scrimmage with physical play. Fleming doesn't play well enough at man on man fundamental football ... Skill wise they generally match the devils ... Line wise , no match .. Devils big , but I might go now ... but only flat might be on my old car ... Estill exploited our soft middle this year , but they didn't have the horses - no defense as in 2003 ... You guys were tough in 2003 ... I expected to see you folks again that year what happened ....

Let's go Belfry , I want to come to the CAM for the rubber match ... even though will not be as nerve racking as last year... or 2004 Last year you folks where the evil empire .... Even up 20 to 0 we knew Darth Vader would come back ... after the interception , Ivan went into the tank and we were holding on with defense ... Looking forward the electric atmosphere of playing an opponent who can play ...

If you got an allstar team from the other three , no chance they beat the Devils .. Hope this doesn't come back to haunt us this year. Would for sure , if Jrs and Srs didn't already know the way to the box ... Go Devils , we want another ride like last year ... Playoff football past the two district cupcakes is all about protecting the ball and making enough plays to win ... You can do it ... Build off experience and fundamentals and you guys will be fine .. Go Devils ..

Wouldn't beat the devils until line play improves .... Would be second in district ....

2005 Russell Season was a dream ride that I wish had never ended. Kids and Coaches came together to form a team , whose whole was much better than it's parts ... 2005 Devils could have been beaten by Fleming , Mercer , Belfry , Newport and OC ... thrills and drama in each of these games ... Kids and coaches always found a way ...

Thumping Lloyd and beating Newport makes Mercer for real. Both these opponents are not county schools who cannot get anyone out for football. Lloyd should be more consistent but they for sure have some kids that can play....

Where are Fleming people ???

I don't think BC has enough skill for Tomcats .... But if skills are close , game will be very interesting ....

Rams will go as far as lines will take them ... as go up in playoffs skill players begin to equal out and skill with lines and linebackers takes over as weather gets colder , stakes get higher , etc ,etc .... Devils secret of success last year was the good mix of all this that made plays in critical situations - Devils just barely had enough. I think Racelend can do this .... have the kids and coaching , I really like Raceland's staff ... Would love to travel to Pizza box for two teams from this area ... Go Rams ...
