How far can this Raceland team go?

Featured Replies

I asked this question in a previous thread and I wanted to get an idea of where their fans think they are. Do you believe they can compete for a region title? Or even a State Championship? Do you think they can compete with the Northern KY schools who seem to almost dominate 1A football in KY?

Second round of the playoffs and out.

I think Raceland has a shot to win their district and then they will have a legit shot against Beechwood/HC/NewCath and here's why.

In this new playoff format it is going to be a little harder for the NKY teams because they will be beating each other up before meeting the other district and maybe there is a slight let down. Let's say Beechwood beats Dayton and then beats the winner of the NC/HC game. Especially if it is NCC maybe the next week is less emotional. Or if HC/NCC knocks off Beechwood. Can they get up again for Raceland or whoever wins that district?

If Raceland can beat Lex. Christian in the District playoffs and get over that hump I think they have a shot at going Louisville. But, as the last few years have shown, the Rams have had a problem with LCA. Get past them and I think the sky is the limit.

Cvillecat called this one of the best, if not, the best Rams team ever in the Fairivew thread. He has seen a lot of Raceland teams and if he has that high of praise for this group then they have to be awfully special. I would like to see them go far because I have tremendous respect for Coach Hoof and he deserves to go far. Granted it has been a long time since I was in school, but Coach Hoof was not only a good Coach (he was an assistant under Bill Tom during my days at RWHS) but he was an excellent teacher. Those two don't always go hand-in-hand.

Raceland will not get past LC and if they do it will be the same outcome as in the past when playing the NKY schools, sorry.

Good luck!

Your opinion is respected. However, I do not agree with your prediction. No one knows what will happen until the game is played. I guarantee you that the Raceland coaching staff & the players do not have the same opinion as you. You are so sure about the season outcome maybe we should not even show up!!

LCA as well as the NKY teams have owned Raceland in the past but the game this year will still be determined on the field. This Raceland team is very capable of doing some special things.

Just curious, have you watched Raceland or LCA play?

Can we get a moderator to add "(If you pick Raceland to lose, don't respond.)" to the thread title?

A question was asked and an honest answer given. And then someone from Raceland gets in a huff over it because someone had the audacity to pick against the Rams. Lexington Christian has already came into Raceland and whipped them once this year. The next time, the game is at Lexington Christian. Has Raceland ever won at LCA? I don't think they have. I think the loss to LCA and a close win over a bad Greenup team exposed some weaknesses on the Rams. Meanwhile, LCA is playing very well down the stretch.

I think this Raceland team is one of the best they've had..To me, there biggest obstacle is Lex Christian...Should they get past that one, I could see them at Papa Johns...If they get there, anything can happen, but, I feel either Frankfort, Bardstown or Mayfield will take it all this year...

 If you are referring to my response I do not understand your post. Who is in a huff. His answer was honest and as I stated respected. There is nothing in my post that says otherwise!!! I just diasagree with his prediction. I also ask a honest question as to if the poster has ever watched either team. It seems as if you are the one in a huff and trying to put something into nothing. As for my question it was never answered. As for your answer to Raceland ever beating LCA @ LCA the answer is yes. I also stated in another post that LCA has owned Raceland. I simply stated that the games are won on the field not on a message board. I wouldn't put a spin on somethng that didn't take place.

:thumb: :thumb: Very well said TRR.

What????

This is a thread about whether Raceland can make a run in the playoffs, it is not about You & I so I will not get into that situation. I will ask you the same question, have you watched either LCA or Raceland play this year?

What????

    Typical and predictable response.

Does no other opinion matter on this thread?? A question was ask and opinion given and then a post on a disagreement was given. Where is the problem?? As for your first first comment about changing the thread title, this was also pedictable and typical from you. Thousands of comedians out of work and you are trying to be funny!:D

Anything is possible in any given game. I remember several years ago when The Rams went to NCC in the playoffs as a #4 seed and beat the #1 seed NCC. Then went to Bath Co. the next week and got beat. I believe this years Rams can make a good run if they stay focused and the coaches do their job and get our rams ready. We'll just take each game as it comes and support our Rams.
