How far can this Raceland team go?

Featured Replies

Thank you all those years run together the older I get! :D The '94 team is my favorite Ram team of all time. You guys fought, punched, and scrapped your way to a great season. No game went by that you guys didn't leave it all on the field. :thumb:

Thanks for the comments. You would make Coach Fannin proud!

Just ask him and he will tell you all about his catches!!!

The new playoff format certainly favors the Rams as far as advancing in the playoffs. And we can talk about LCA all we want, but in order to even get there the Rams have to beat Paris...twice. I have confidence that Raceland's great staff will keep the kids focused on the task at hand. And that task is beating Paris...twice. Looking ahead to LCA will only spell doom. And looking further ahead to playing a NKY powerhouse again spells even further doom.

I certainly hope Raceland makes it to he Pizza Box. And I hope Russell does as well. Nothing would make me happier than to get to watch two schools only 3 miles or so apart each compete for a state championship. But Raceland can't look ahead. Take it a game at a time and worry about LCA, Beechwood, Pikeville, or whoever the Football Gods put in your path when you get there.

We (Raceland) cannot afford to look past anyone and that is why I have not said much about a possible rematch with LCA or any NKY school. Raceland has not gotten to those games yet. That will be something to discuss when and if those games come about - if the Rams are looking past two games with Paris to possible games with LCA and NKY teams we will not get to those games.

I didn't say he had anything to do with it did I? :p :thumb:

If any of the crew members were from Lexington that would mean they were all from Lexington. There are no officials from Lexington on any crews from around here.

Confused? Are you saying that the crew that officiated the Raceland/ Fairview game was not out of Lexington because it was reported they were. All I know is at the LCA game there were numerous people saying one of the guys was from Lexington.

Someone stated that one of the officials on the crew was from Lexington. I was saying that there are no officials from Lexington on any of our 16th Region crews, so if the official was from Lexington then that would mean that the entire crew would be from Lexington. I can't remember any crew from our area officiating that game so it probably was a crew from Lexington calling it. I hope this clears it up.

Whether they were from Lexington or not,

I heard they were more than a little confused.

It was terrible!!!

There were officials from our area in the LCA game. I won't give any names so as to stay on topic ,but if you PM me I will tell you the crew that worked it. I can't confirm if any were from Lexington but it was reported as such.

No you did not!;) To be honest if you did ask him he would probably mention everyone else on that team except himself.

For one, Raceland did not get whipped by LCA. The Rams played their WORST game of the season that night and still only got beat 21-10. The LCA loss was the best thing to happen to the Rams. They are more focused and determined than ever before. Remember my words... Raceland WILL beat LCA. No doubt about it. After they do that, I am VERY confident that they can make it all the way to Papa Johns. The RACELAND RAMS are LIGIT! Something special is happening in Raceland. But dont take my word for it, the stats and the play of the young men do all the talking. I advise you not to make an opinion about the Rams until you have seen them play.

The best thing the Rams can do is to focus on each game as it comes.

Welcome to BGP. Always good to have some more "Orange Blood" in the picture.

You are correct. Coach Fannin is very humble and we are fortunate to have him on our staff. I have said before that he will make someone a great head coach someday. He also does an excellent job with the boys track team, a job that goes without much glory but requires a whole lot of time & sacrifice.

He and his brother were great athletes at Raceland in football & baseball. Gary played college baseball at Alice Loyd.

When my son was at Raceland he had nothing but respect for coach Fannin & I am sure that is the mindset of the other kids as well.
