Thanks for supporting the Rams Statmaster and Cville. Im glad you have alot of confidence in your team. All i can say is, WE CANT WAIT to prove you wrong. Make all the comments you want about the play calling and the previous game with LCA. Niether of you are at practice everday with the boys, niether of you are playing in the games, or in the locker room with the team. Raceland is more determined then ever. The Rams played ONE bad game, and it just so happened to be against LCA, and Raceland still almost won! Just wait and see when the Rams visit Lexington....The proof will be right there on the scoreboard, and I dont want see any of the doubters jumping on the band wagon.

Ok fellas - I can only take so much of this without finally intervening with some facts - :D

LCA won that game by a whole lot larger margin than that score showed...I really hope there IS a 2nd round match-up between LCA & Raceland so the score can be confirmed. There was a reason Raceland had a "bad day" that day - it is called LCA's team speed on Defense - plain & simple.

I also hope the next game between these two teams has better ref's as well - because that element went "against" LCA which is one of the major reasons the score was not representative of teh actual game.

Again, JMO - not trying to be dis-respectful to any Ram fans - just stating what I observed - and I do NOT have a son on LCA's team either - so it is not as biased as people might think.

Good luck to the Rams...

and to answer this threads question - The Rams will get to the 2nd round of the playoffs! :sssh:

The LCA - Raceland game was officiated just fine. It angers me when people was the calls went "against" a team. The officials are not "against" anyone or any team. They do not care one bit that an out-of-town team is coming to play in the area, they could care less who the team is. The officials do miss calls and they do have bad games just like players and coaches but they're not calling in "favor" or "against" anyone. They call it as they see it.

Now about the game, I'm sure LCA defense had something to do with Raceland's bad play but it wasn't everything to do with it. They did not play very well for many reason, LCA defense being just one of those reasons.

UK - you can call it it what you want...even the Raceland fans who are my friends agreed it was an embarrassment the way that set of officials called that game - I agree everyone has bad days and I really dont believe they performed poorly on purpose - but it sure "felt" that way we you're out of town and the emotions of a big game come into play. I was just being honest about my feelings - and heck - we won anyway! :thumb:

You need to read the post a little more MVP 007. I made my post with a reality of what took place in the previous matchup with LCA.

As for being at practice or in the locker room, that is for the players & coaches not for fans. The coaches & players have enough distractions without an armchair QB observing their every move. I don't know you but I have probably been a Ram fan longer than you are old, so therefore I don't jump off & on any bandwagon. Let's stick to the thread title, if you want to talk more, PM me & we will discuss it.

We are putting the cart before the horse. Raceland has to beat Paris this week & next week also or the Raceland/LCA rematch will not happen. As others have stated (including myself) the Rams have a chance to go very deep in the playoffs but they must approach it with a one game at a time attitude. With the Rams coaching staff and players attitude I think they are doing just that.

There is no doubt that the Rams are determined to win the whole package but rest assured that all their opponents are approaching it the same way.

I know that you, your entire family, myself and others on here have been around Raceland football since the days of leather helments:eek:
 Now the Raceland fans will be on you. But I, like you, don't think the Rams will win , UNLESS, they use the short passing game more. And I don't mean quick screens to the WR. I mean short passes over the middle.

This is all well and fine for us to discuss and all but I have full confidence in our coaching staff to make the right play calls/game plan in any game that we play. Raceland imo has one of the very best coaching staffs in the state of Kentucky.

I agree there were some bad calls but it was to my understanding that at least one if not two officials were out of Lexington and not from here. So where they are from means little. How the ballgame is called means alot

Guys the talk/debate about the calls/bad calls/no calls could go on forever about just about any game played by anyone. The point is that after this Friday night none of that matters. Everyone is starting out with a 0-0 record. I just hope that Raceland can stay focused on each game/each play like it was their last bc it just may be if the Ramblers don't take care of business. There is no room for error in the playoffs. Mental mistakes, missed assigments, stupid penalties can and will end a season for anyone.

:thumb: Nice one.

For one, Raceland did not get whipped by LCA. The Rams played their WORST game of the season that night and still only got beat 21-10. The LCA loss was the best thing to happen to the Rams. They are more focused and determined than ever before. Remember my words... Raceland WILL beat LCA. No doubt about it. After they do that, I am VERY confident that they can make it all the way to Papa Johns. The RACELAND RAMS are LIGIT! Something special is happening in Raceland. But dont take my word for it, the stats and the play of the young men do all the talking. I advise you not to make an opinion about the Rams until you have seen them play.

No doubt about it? Thats pretty confident in a team who has took a yearly beating since Rains came to LCA...And who got beat by a YOUNG LCA team in THEIR house!

Legit...not Ligit!:thumb:

I'm not sure what crew called that game but it's very possible that the crew was from Lexington or Central KY. Just because some fans thought the officials did a poor job does not mean that they did. Many fans confuse high school rules and NFL rules which are completely different. The officials may see something the fans can not or do not see. The officials may have had a bad game but 9 times out of 10 someone in the fan base think the officials were horrible. There is always somebody saying something about a call or a game and usually it's because people don't know the rules or they don't know the NFHS rules. Occasionally the fans are correct but most of the time they're the ones who are incorrect. So I'm sorry if I question the remarks on the officiating, just because a few fans thought it was horrible is not enough for me. Someone always thinks the officials were horrible and it's hardly ever the case.

I think it was more than just a "few" fans.

Just a few things from this lengthy thread. The question was asked if Raceland had ever beaten LCA @ LCA. I think a Raceland fan said we had, but we haven't. Our first meeting was in 2001 and LCA beat us 24-22 @ LCA. We made the playoff's that season via the tiebreaker.

Also someone stated that we beat NCC when they were the 1 seed. We have never beaten a #1 from NKY. NCC was the 2 and Raceland the 3.

Most Raceland fans have become used to a NKY team getting a W through us in the playoffs. But every year brings a new squad a new vision. I certainly am not making any predictions on how far this Ramblers team will advance. I think they are capable of doing some great things. But we have also seen times when they have looked uninspired. And frankly the history of LCA, Raceland and the NKY teams have little to do with this season's matchups. It is the teams currently and how they execute on that Friday night and for many games this time of year it comes down to turnovers.

We cannot get upset with others' view of our team, with our poor performance in the playoffs and our recent struggle with LCA it is only fitting that those that do not see our team play in person, predict and feel the way they do. I feel we have had many teams that have been solid top 5 teams through the years, but without the opportunity to play someone other than NKY in the playoffs we only have subjective opinions and speculations where our teams rated in a particular season. And many times matchups determine games and without head to head competition, there again it is all just a big guessing game.

Quickly on the watering issue, I like many of the Rambler fans have been here longer than most. And I have NEVER seen or heard of a sprinkling of the field during the playoffs.

Raceland fans like many others follow their teams win or lose. Supporting and pulling for those kids that work so hard. And regardless of their previous records in the playoffs, we all continue to dream of that State Championship, maybe this is the season for us Orange fans. We will see.
