.. Can't wait to play Mercer , may the best team win. A problem in Ky football is too many really weak programs that are not the kids problem. Ky is a large state with small population. The kids from small programs enjoy playing just as much as the ones with more resources. At the 1a and 2a level fielding a team is a school and community activity for the kids and that's it.

I am looking forward to better competition during regular season .... Right now only Fleming , East and one timers such as Estill and Morgan ever had a chance to beat the Devils. Kids rise to level of competition and so will the coaches. Devils have the staff , the feeders , great facitlities , great academics and kids( and parents) who want to be successful. Devils like cream will rise to the top ... Russell feeders ... mainly JFL is the best in this area and likely the country ... Every kid in Russell Flatwoods can and most do participate ... JFL here grows every year ....

Sizemore and Lewis both have had tough breaks during senior year. I don't want either to return if any risk to long term health. Just isn't worth it. The Devils will be fine but others have to step up in many areas. Both these kids brought talent and experience , especially Jacob in a safety and pass recieving roles.

I would like to see what Kasey could do week in/out against better competition. Kasey to his credit plays hard each play has no rival on the field. He is a game changer from anywhere on the field on any play .... Like many , I've watched him since JFL - he was a 49er - who beat the stacked Browns ... He has developed each year and his best football is in front of him , cannot say that for many high schoolers that what makes him special ... With all that said , it's hard for me to say any kid playing our schedule is serious Mr Football.

Views are fine .... an agenda ... repeatedly is not ... Rose Hill did nothing wrong , neither did the kids ... If anything they brought the public versus private school issue into our backyard and alot of people didn't like it ...

Is Gross on track to play at GT this year .... That kid was a heck of a high school football player , who if healthy can contribute at any level. I think he could have been a return man at UK or Lousiville ... vision , footwork , smart , tough , instinctive runner ... rare high school talent ..

This is do or die for LCHS .... Football in Louisa is serious , more so than Boyd ... At this point in the season , put a RB at QB and run it behind Carter ....

Dickie's a very good announcer ... he paints a picture and we are listening. My only complaint was the treatment both the Ashland and Boyd people gave Rose Hill when OJ was there. Dickie had a part in this - on the radio - and it was wrong ...

If Mercer did not dominate lines of scrimmage ... the 2a race is wide open ... Russell has enough skill players to play with anyone at any level. Both Devil lines and backers and ends need to step up - more physical play before the playoffs. This will continue to improve with experience ... Based upon last year , and listening to the radio against Ashland , Belfry is power so both these teams will be able to take Mercer to the 4th ... In the 4th , you have to know how to win .... Belfry has it , Devils learned it last year , Mercer has to get over this hump ... looking forward to the playoffs .. Bring back the Scottie ...

Someone who watched this game give us the scoop ... Did Mercer dominate , both lines of scrimmage and tackle well ? If Mercer didn't totally dominate physically ... Belfry - Red Army and or the Red Devils are preparing a lunch and plan to take the Scotties late into the fourth quarter ... someone give me the scoop ...

Nick is nice kid , I saw the play from across the field on the West side , knew he was hurt with seperation or something , when he got up was just hanging his shoulder. Heck of a football player for the Devils. He will be missed especially at corner. D backfield misses both Nick and Sizemore but who wouldn't. 5 is playing better each week and 38 looks young but a player. West is improving .... they consistently moved the ball stopped themselves with penalties and mistakes all night. Defense they had no answer for Kasey who is clearly at a higher level than the rest of the kids on the field. Ps ... the little guy who ran back KO's for West was tough ... I was impressed with the runs that didn't go the distance as much as the one that did .... Last Ps .. west had several kids on defense who would hit you , they couldn't catch Clark but other devils were in a football game and that's a good thing ..

Second Olive Hill exit .... West likely be big but with no chance to win , hopefully facility has improved .....

Looking forward to playing Lawrence Co and Mason Co again ... Raceland , Greenup and Russell all playing each other is real Backyard Brawl. Team with best record holds the trophy ..... Similar to Army,Navy and Air Force in college football ... Would like to get rid of West Carter and Lewis ..... Neither will ever beat the Devils , no disrespect just the cold truth ...

I am hoping for Newport to slow the Mercer run away express ..... this game could serve notice to rest of 2a if it's a blowout ....

Speed/skill tends to even out come playoff time ..... Tell me about some line play ... last year Mercer was big and that's about it ? Exception, Belfry in 2003,2004 was gifted in the backfield.

2a will again come down to the team with the best O and D lines. The skill players including linebackers are a wash for all the contenders. Belfry beat us in 2004 because they were better on the lines. We beat them last year because we were better. Both these teams won the state games as they manhandled OC on the lines. So the team that developes the best group at trench warfare will win it ... Belfry and Russell know the way .. the rest have to learn this and produce it come playoff time.... Mercer vs Newport will be a big test if Mercer manhandles a team coached by a former UK lineman .. the rest of 2a is in trouble ... If they don't the race is still on ..

Devils are loaded in backfield ... games will be won or lost on the lines ... Devils had experience and muscle last year ... not much size .. the key to this year will be developement of both lines ...

Way to go Mayfield ..... Coach Thomas can get back to those tapes

Where's Chuke ? Dawgs have a good staff what is going on in Louisa ? Are Dawgs are done like dinner or do they have a chance top salvage this season ...

Rather than a score , we should predict how many kids Ivan gets into the game. 50-60-70 ( including freshmen) .... I predict all varsity players get in how many is that approx 50 ? Score in this game is meaningless .. these are program builders for hopefully a stronger non district schedule - next year ... I rather play Ashland or Ironton every week than what's going on in this district this year ...
