Mayfield's Williams intercepts the ball in the endzone in OT for the win.

Heck of a game, Cards finally get the win, total yards 242 for Mayfield, 242 for PT. More later

Very entertaining game to watch. Tilghman has a good team and could easily be 4-1 instead of 0-5. Mayfield played hard but still had several turnovers. Shelton was the horse today as he carried the team mostly on his back.Mayfield's defence looked good as Armstrong,Pruitt and Simpkins had nice games. Mayfield wont play a hard game now until the playoffs.I think this team can do some damage come playoff time.

I wouldn't say that Tilghman could be 4-1, but possibly 3-2. The Tornado has lost twice in overtime (to Fort Campbell and Mayfield) and I think they could have beaten Graves County if not for a horrible start.
Way to go Mayfield ..... Coach Thomas can get back to those tapes
Hey, show some Russell class here. As you've been told several times, you seem bent on blaming Perry Thomas for a manufactured gripe.

game shud uv bin won in regulation... mcnutt missed two feild goals that he had been making this year... not the best tilghman mayfield game but at least it was dramatic.

Tilghman also missed a 29-yard field goal to win the game in the final seconds of the fourth quarter.

Great game to watch and great atmosphere...granted some people may think that it was not a great game since it was low scoring...but those people obviously do not appreciate a good hard hitting defensive effort played by both teams. Mcnutt probably should have been 1 for 2 on FG's as his second one was apparently good...after reviewing some of the tapes from hand held cameras behind the goal post the FG looked good...but was a hard call as the ball was so high that it went above the top of the goal post and those are hard calls to make as it is more judgement than anything else.

Both defenses played very well...and very hard as there will be some very sore young men today and for the next few days. Just hope that both teams will be able to recuperate in time to start district play this week.

Great game played in very windy conditions...the Cards should be able to continue this roll into district play and will be a very tough team come playoff time with the return of everyone back into the lineup.

Great job CARDS!!!

Whats all this about?

Whats all this about?
There were no Russell players selected to play in last summer's Kentucky-Tennessee all-star game, and there have been one or two posters from Russell who have openly blamed it on Tilghman's Perry Thomas, who was the all-star team's head coach. It's been pointed out more than once that the team is selected by a committee of coaches.

Yeah, I really question that Field Goal call myself, it looked good and several folks standing on the fence behind the goal post were saying it was defniitely good. I thought the ref was going to pull out a credit card at one point when Adam ran past the 1st down marker, this game always has something doesn't it??

Good defensive battle...definitely not the atmosphere and intensity that Friday night has. Neither team executed well. I've never seen a QB like PT's Jones who would either pass it or duck his head and run up the middle before he hit the line. One track mind it seemed! Shelton injured his finger on his throwing hand that wasn't revealed til after the game.

Mayfield is a much better team than this game showed. Coach Thomas of PT completely changed his "D" line and now consists of players all about 5'11 195that were quick and got lots of pressure on the Mayfield backfield.

VERY ???BLE OFFICIATING ON BOTH ENDS...really didn't let the kids play that much. Good win for Mayfield, but Tilghman will be ok, lots of youth out there.

Mayfield has an easy road with the exception of looking past Fulton Co or Fulton City that might make for a closer game than some expect!

Good win for the Cards. Adam Shelton played like a man among boys yesterday. There is just no quit in this years Mayfield team.
