Good news. It will bring a lot excitement to local high school football and give Raceland another game aganist a great opponent to help them prepare for their district competition. With Ashland, Greenup Co., & now Russell, the Rams have a very tough non-district schedule.

Congrats to the administration of both programs for making this game happen. Now we as fans need to conduct ourselves in a manner that represents behavior that the kids from both programs can benefit from. We need to set the example for them to follow.:thumb:

Where will next years game be played at? Should be a very emotional and high energy atmosphere, however both teams lose alot of key players. Raceland will have trouble replacing some of these players; Grizzle (3 yr. starter at QB) Forrest (4 yr. starter at LB) Mullins (leading receiver) Beach (Leads team in TD's) Rogers (3 yr. starter OL and DL) Caldwell ( 3 yr. starter at DE) Thompson (2 yr. starter at NG) Mckenzie ( 3 yr. starter at RB) and Stephens ( Starting DE and RB). It's not going to be easy to replace this years senior class.

I agree. It should be a great atmosphere. The Rams do lose some good players & even greater young men. We do however, have a Sophmore class that is very talented with most of these kids playing a key role on this years team. Combined with a good group of returning Juniors and some promising Freshman players and a top notch coaching staff, the future looks pretty good if you are a Ram fan. And I am proud to say that I am!!!!

This certainly should be a good thing for both schools and commmunities. Raceland will be losing soime key players but they also have some very talents players to return next season. Russell always fields a very tough and talented team. The game will no doubt be a great $$$$ gate and benifit both programs in that way also. It is always good to talk about this game and the possibilities (especially for all us "old ramblers" that remember the series in the past) but I will try and not look ahead too much if any. Rams are still working on what could be a very promising season this year and if the game is not untill the 10th week next year there is a lot of football to be played before then.

Why don't we just combine the two schools after next year and keep the students at the schools and call it Raceland #1 and #2. We will combine with Raceland that way we can play 1-A.

Your idea sounds interesting, but I vote no. It would be a big expense on my family as I would have to hire a contractor to remove the Orange turf from my lawn, and change the lense color in my glasses.:lol:

If the two schools ever did combine it could be one great football team considering the talent that these two schools produce.

:laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: I don't own any article of Maroon clothing and do not plan on it. I do however have one Alabama hat with the "A" on it so when I go to an Ashland game when we are not playing them I can wear it and show my support for my other favorite team in the area.
