I love the stable at Mercer where they have they have 7 or 8 very good backs. Danville has a corral of backs. I know there are alot of good rushing attacks in the state. Throw in your opinion of the best rushing attacks you have seen this season so far.

The best backfields that I have seen this year in the eastern part of the state. Russell, Ashland, Johnson Central, Belfry and Pikeville.

Devils are loaded in backfield ... games will be won or lost on the lines ... Devils had experience and muscle last year ... not much size .. the key to this year will be developement of both lines ...

Ryle has the best backfield in NKY IMO with Murray, Gray, Shmichtz carrying th load...

Lincoln County has two excellent backs, Braxton Miller and Trent Calhoun. Friday against South Laurel Miller had 258 yards 4 touchdowns and Calhoun had 175 yards 4 touchdowns. That made Millers 2nd game with 200 plus this year. I don't know their totals but they are good.

Those two are a threat to take it to the house every time they touch it. Alot of talented backs in central ky as usual.

7 or 8 very good backs? That really is loaded. I doubt any 4A team in the state could say they have that. I have seen some teams in KY have 3 RBs that were pretty darn good, but to say you have 7 or 8 is probably pushing it a little bit. I think the word "very good" can be misleading sometimes.

Devils loaded indeed, but Mercer COunty has about 7 backs that (if taken from Mercer) would be the starting RB for the top 7 2-A schools.

Who has the horses in the backfield?

 

North Oldham, Moore, Harrison County and Newport Central Catholic for sure.

 

You might consider Marion Co, Lexington Catholic, Webster Co, Barren Co, Cawood, Southern and North Hardin too if you are willing to allow a small assumption.

Well the latter 3 are young but very talented. Talented enough to take it to the house. The top four are mixed with Great speed, and power running and great blocking. Jackson and Ford average above 150 and carry around 12 or 13 times each and are well on their way to both eclipsing 1,500 if they make a deep run into the playoffs. They are the Jets. Sunshine will run over you and then by you. And Nathan is all power with good speed who is a beast when it comes to blocking.

Maybe it's true if you exclude the top 7 2A teams. In other words, Mercer may have 7 that could start on any other 2A teams except those at the top.

Simon Kenton has to be up there. Michael Haught and Brent Bishop? Two of the top backs in NKY 4A last year are now in the backfield in Independence. All that matters is if the line holds up and blocks well enough for them and if they start playing like they should they could go deep in the playoffs on the backs of those two guys. :fight:
