Good win by the Bobcats tonight at LC. I thought that Breahitt Co. would win but didnt think they would shut out LC.

I agree that I too thought they would win but a shutout against Lawrence County, in Lawrence County, with this young team didn't enter my mind.:thumb:

LC still looks to be having problems, Breathitt has a nice team but they did give up nearly 30 to Fleming County early in the season.

Goldsmith slides to 8-20 in the new era.

Someone had told me last night that LC's QB Boone Goldsmith hurt his knee during some of the homecoming festivities at LC. They also said that he was on crutches yesterday. Is this true and if so how bad did he hurt his knee?

This is true he is going to have surgery Monday looks to be out for the season. I won't make any excuses we got beat last night by a pretty good football team they was well balance they ran and threw the ball pretty good . But I do know that LC had practice all week on thier passing offence I think LC was going to try and open it up some this week to take advantage of Boones arm . Then he gets hurt the day before the game and we have to play a kid thats been out of action for 3 weeks which in anybody's book would be hard . But with all that said we still didn't get the job done on the D side of the ball . We have two weeks to get ready for Boyd and if no body else gets hurt we should have every body back except for Boone . That will be a big plus for us going into the last part of the season and with a play off spot on the line . I think if the kids keep thier heads up they can do it . :thumb:

This game was sloppy. The feild was one of the worst feilds i have ever seen. The bobcat offense got off to a slow start but in the second half they really turned it on. They scored 28 points in the second half. I am really impressed with the bobcats young defense. They really have played well the last two games. Give up only 7 points in the last two games. It seems like they get better every game and they will be a hell of a playoff team when it come time. Look out for these young cats they are ready to pounch on any team.

Second thing, The field was only muddy in the midfield area. Yes it was slippery but what do you expect when it rains as much as did. This field was 200% better than it was when Breathitt last came to Lawrence County with the "Streak".

 

Now my take on the game. Lawrence County moved to ball well but once again fumbles killed drives. Breathitt was good but not as good alot of people think. They had at least 5 delay of game penalties. You cannot have this, if you playing a better team. It was 7-0 at the half and LC looked like they could hang around and make something happen, but that is when the fumbles came.

Every week you are posting something negative on here about LC and Goldsmith. If you are wanting his job then put in your resume.

I don't know many teams in Eastern KY that can lose their top players two years in a row transferring and then go through the injuries that LC has gone through. They lost their starting QB a couple of years ago when he went to Boyd Co. They started a Soph in Humphrey which is tough. He moved then they start a Freshman in Goldsmith which is tough. He blows his knee out on Thurs. Let's be realistic, this is going to kill most programs.

It's easy to jump on coaches and it's easy to get the "what have you done for me lately mentality" the fact is that Billy Goldsmith made Lawrence Co football! They were in the top ten in all classes in the 90's and that was due to the foundation that Goldsmith built. I'm not happy where the program is right now and I'll put my house on the coaches aren't either. The fact is that they have battled tons of adversity. The pipeline is loaded and the people that have a brain in Louisa know that things are going to be OK as long as everybdoy doesn't jump ship.

I have talked several times about the future. The fact is that LC has struggled thus far this year but it doesn't really matter. They are 0-1 in the big scheme of things. If they cowboy up and take care of business there is no reason this group can't make the playoffs! If they do then it is a step in the right direction for the program with the adversity they have gone through IMO.

I am not taking anything away from LC, they played a good game in the first half. I would agree with you that the fumbles killed LC. The 5 delay of game penalties, some of them were the coaching staffs fault but 3 of them werea a crock. Plus when Breahitt had the ball they wouldnt start the clock. Just accept defeat and be a good sport.
