Not a big suprise IMO.

Every week you are posting something negative on here about LC and Goldsmith. If you are wanting his job then put in your resume.

I don't know many teams in Eastern KY that can lose their top players two years in a row transferring and then go through the injuries that LC has gone through. They lost their starting QB a couple of years ago when he went to Boyd Co. They started a Soph in Humphrey which is tough. He moved then they start a Freshman in Goldsmith which is tough. He blows his knee out on Thurs. Let's be realistic, this is going to kill most programs.

It's easy to jump on coaches and it's easy to get the "what have you done for me lately mentality" the fact is that Billy Goldsmith made Lawrence Co football! They were in the top ten in all classes in the 90's and that was due to the foundation that Goldsmith built. I'm not happy where the program is right now and I'll put my house on the coaches aren't either. The fact is that they have battled tons of adversity. The pipeline is loaded and the people that have a brain in Louisa know that things are going to be OK as long as everybdoy doesn't jump ship.

I have talked several times about the future. The fact is that LC has struggled thus far this year but it doesn't really matter. They are 0-1 in the big scheme of things. If they cowboy up and take care of business there is no reason this group can't make the playoffs! If they do then it is a step in the right direction for the program with the adversity they have gone through IMO.

I couldn't have said it better Stick . I think are coaches are doing every thing in thier power . I sit in and watch and listen to thier game plans for each game and if every one else could then they could see that these coaches have good game plans for each game but they can't get out thier and make the plays the kids got to do it and this bunch of young men play thier hearts out every game they just get out man most of the time every team we have played this year has had bigger running back's then are linebacker but these kids don't stop they give it thier all every play . And thats how this program is going to get back on top . I would love to see Billy stay around I would love to go to a LC game 20 years from now and see him still on the side line If we did then I would bet that LC would hold a state tittle or two . Because look at the teams around here that has won the state look how long thier coaches have been with the same programs. I all so agree that the pipe line come up is full and these are the kind of kids that will stay and play for LC they won't jump ship I know most of thier parents and there the kind that believes it will all happen right here in Louisa . We all just need to tighten up are belt and get ready because guys it's comeing and the one that keep puting us down while we are down know this . They know LC will be back to the power house they was but they wont admit it but it's comeing soon and I still think this season we make the play off's and we get started now and next year I see LC winning the new district.:D

I am not taking anything away from LC, they played a good game in the first half. I would agree with you that the fumbles killed LC. The 5 delay of game penalties, some of them were the coaching staffs fault but 3 of them werea a crock. Plus when Breahitt had the ball they wouldnt start the clock. Just accept defeat and be a good sport.

I have accepted defeat and nowhere did I say I didn't. I am a good sport, I was just stating the fact that Breathitt cannot make the small mistakes against a better team than LC. It doesn't matter who made the mistake players or coaches it will come back and bite you.

In case you didn't know couple of years ago the KHSAA changed the rule when the play clock starts, I thought the officials called an outstanding game, I don't know where they were from but they weren't local.

Who didn't start the clock when Breathitt had the ball? Officials or scorekeeper?

I did not think Breathitt would shut them out but I thought they would win. Lawrence had some good looking players and the future is bright for their team if the parents and school will be patient with their coach's,

Breathitt still continues to play well and looks like a contenner for the district title.

How young is LC team? I was impressed with alot of there players and their game plan. They changed a couple of things around from their previous games and took advantage of some things we were trying to do early in the game.

It was a good game overall but it was not a well called game. 3 of those delay of game penalties were bogus. It was probably the fastest played game I have ever watched. It went by fast.

It's was a good win for Breathitt against a quality team.

LC has alot of Juniors and Sophomores on the team. I believe they are only 3 or 4 starters that are seniors.

About the delay of game, as I mentioned earlier the KHSAA changed the rule a couple of years ago too when the play is over and the ball is placed on the hash mark or between the hashes the Play clock starts. The purpose of the rule was to speed up the game. If Breathitt hasn't seen officials do this alot, they will when they have a officials from a different part of the state just like the one that was there Friday.

Dawg fans you must admit that your team is HORRIBLE! You also don't get wins by talking about the past! Yes you guys were good in the 90's but that is over and its time to talk about the present. I think that might be the problem, you guys think that since you were good at one time then you should not be abused over your horrible showings of recent years. You have been talking about the graduation of your wonderful players for the past 3-4 years as well as the injury bug. Boy that bug must be a big one that won't leave and if you didn't have only bulldog glasses then you would see that every team in the area has had some injuries and most of them to key players. With that said just tell the truth - your team isn't very good, hasn't been good since McPeek left, and doesn't appear that they will be good anytime soon! Don't take offense just telling the truth.

LC only has 7 juniors on the team and 8 seniors they are playing mostly shopmores and about 5 freshmen.

For a team that has gone through injuries and player departures as you guys say, Lawrence County has played a brutal schedule. I'm not very familiar with their program, other than they have consistently been a very good team year in and year out. So, from my perspective, this would seem to just be a down time and a period of transition. I expect they'll bounce back at some point. That doesn't necessarily make it any easier to watch your team lose on a weekly basis, but it would be premature to expect that to become the norm just because of a few years of struggle.

Believe me, we know. Mistakes killed us against Louisville Western. Breathitt has a very young team though, so those mistakes are to be expected, unfortunately. Hopefully, they'll improve on that and other aspects with maturity and experience. The future is bright for the Bobcats...it just may not be this year that we reap the reward for it.
