It takes discipline to stop the wing-T. Its hard to try to stop the wing with just athletic ability. Wing teams are not looking for the big play, therefor, they are content with the 3 and four yard gains. If the 'backers are getting bad reads, or the d-line is running upfield creating running lanes, then Russell's wing and ball control could be a test for the Titans D.

Belfry's d-ends and OLB's will determine if they can stop Middlesboro or not. The inside veer is not that hard to stop. Its when Hoskins pulls the ball and keeps it his-self when it gets interesting. They'll run that 32-33 5 or six times in a row and get you're outside guys biting down and then run a keep or option. And when these guys get outside, look out. They killed Leslie on a plain old draw from rifle. It was kind of like a trap. They're corners play straight man, no run support at all. That's how they can stack the box with 8 or 9. Weather is dictating a running game even on field turf, but I think Middlesboro will come out throwing. Look for a deep ball to Adams or Farr early.

They're line is a little undersized but have pretty good fight about them. Listen, if these guys would learn to play a 4-3, or a 4-4 defense, they'd be the best around, including Mercer. That man defense all the time is just crazy. They've got away with it so far. Just an outburst by Breathitt, and thats it. But they've not exactly played a bunch of teams who are leading the state in scoring. But they're line is a little undersized, but play with a lot of heart.

Hoskins is an outstanding QB, and I think Casey Earls is the BEST RB in the mountains. Also, Adams is a terror on Defense, especially if you throw the ball. I just don't think they can play the team game, and they're going to war with the best team around. Its hard to take 5-6 guys to a gang fight and win. Plus, its on Belfry's turf. In the Leslie game, one TD was a give up TD to get the ball back. The other was the one Verticle Leslie was good for giving up every game. The other was a pretty good drive. They've got pass more this week to have a chance at all. They have all the weapons for a GREAT passing attack, they just don't use them. Hoskins throws the ball great, but they just won't go to it alot.

I've moved on.......... As bad as Middlesboro turns the ball over, and as good as Belfry's Defense is, I'd say this game won't be close. Belfry's offense is good enough to make them pay for turning the ball over, Leslie's wasn't. Leslie had the ball inside the 30 4 times in the 2nd half and couldn't score. Belfry will not have this problem. They'll stop Middlesboro once or twice and have a few 6-7 minute drives and Middlesboro's players will start pointing fingers and fighting with each other. Then it will get out of hand. We've saw these guys twice. You can't win big games on talent alone, you have to play as a team. Belfry is the better team. Belfry wins 42-21.

Middlesboro's defense didn't stop the 2 point conversion, the ref did!!!

There were two cameras filming the game last night. On the two point conversion, you could not see it. But from the field cam, which one of our managers has, it could not have been a better view. As he was going to score, one of Middlesboro's players makes a last second dive and barely touches Howard, knocking him off course just a little bit, or he would have walked in. Anyway, HE PUT TWO FEET IN THE END ZONE, AND STUCK THE BALL OUT AND HIT THE INSIDE OF THE PILE ON!!!!!!! We watched it over and over and over. WHAT A CROCK!!!! And to beat it all, the ref was standing RIGHT THERE!!!!! It was a great game. Both teams played masterful on defense. Middlesboro's last TD was a give up one. Casey Earls runs as hard as anyone I've ever seen on the high school level. They're a great team, and will surely give Belfry a great game next Friday night. Best of luck to the Leslie Co. seniors.

Leslie finally put together a whole game and didn't shoot themselves in the foot with bad penalties and costly mistakes. Leslie's D just gave up 26 yards rushing, while gaining 246 yds. on the ground themselves. Breathitt had 199 yds. passing, but Leslie stayed in a prevent most of the 4th quarter. Jimmie Joe Morgan was 11-13 throwing, can't recall the yardage. An All-together well played game for the Eagles. Also, good luck to the Breathitt Seniors. Man that Allen kid is the real deal, he'll definitely be playing on Saturdays.

He beat Leslie Co. on a punt return for a TD. Score ended up being 7-0.

Hubbard and Howard from Leslie. Hubbard plays WR and Safety. Howard Plays HB,WR, and OLB. Both are great at what they do.

I think the sloppy weather conditions helped Middlesboro way more than it did Leslie Co. Leslie receivers were open ALL NIGHT LONG!! Morgan just couldn't hold onto the ball to throw it. That played into Middlesboro's hands because then when you can't throw the ball, they can play that crazy goaline defense that they play and stop the run with ease.

I just don't see Breathitt scoring that many points on Leslie. Leslie had the ball inside the 20 yard line 3 times and didn't score. I just think this game will come down to special teams and the little things. I give Leslie the edge in the rematch 20-14.

I don't know about that. Earls is an extremely impressive back, but he doesn't have teams gameplanning their defense to stop just him like some of the other great backs in the mountains. Like Roshkopf from Lynn Camp, Miller from Rockcastle Co., Howard from Leslie, Willis from Perry Central, or Grimm from Johnson Central. I think there are a lot of great backs in the mountains this year.

The away Mercer Co. uniforms are where its at!!! Man those are sweet!!!

The district is not yet decided. If Leslie beats Middleboro, Breathitt is the 1, Middlesboro is the 2, Leslie the three, and Cawood the 4. It would be a three way tie and Breathitt would beat Middleboro and Leslie on tiebreaker points. Middleboro would beat Leslie on tiebreaker points.

If Leslie beats Middlesboro, then they will have to go straight back to Middlesboro the next week. This is crazy!!!!!

This is not true. If Leslie wins, it will be a 3 way tie and Breathitt will be the 1, Middleboro will be the 2, Leslie will be the 3, and Cawood the 4. Breathitt beats Middleboro on tiebreaker points, and the 'Boro beats Leslie on points.

What is the process for figuring out a tiebreaker between 2 or 3 teams are tied in a district?

I think Leslie's speed on defense matches up with Middleboro's offense better than anyone they've played this year. If Leslie can limit the big plays, and keep it close going into the 4th quarter, they've got a chance.

Breathitt got destroyed on the option in this game. They couldn't account for the pitchman and by the time Hoskins got him the ball, it was 8-10 yards before first contact. Silly penalties and some untimely playcalling stalled drives for Breathitt in the second half. They moved the ball easily against Middleboro, but went away from plays that worked. Nevertheless, it was a great game to watch!! That is a great place to watch a football game, the atmosphere was like a college game.

I think they should be ranked by number of catches, rather than yards per game.
