Leslie Co. Football Schedule

Leslie's got Howard, Hubbard, and Baker coming back. Jordan Morgan will be great at running back. There are two Seniors who have not played football since middle school and could have started at receiver on last years team, and thats saying something. Theres a couple of stud freshmen linemen that could see playing time, and a sophmore lb/de who is the real deal. As far as the line goes, the new weight program that has been going on has really pumped up some of the linemen. James Mosley, a junior, squatted 570 the last test and the rest of the starting line have made tremendous gains. And with a Vince Young, Michael Vick type at QB, THE EAGLES WILL BE VERY DANGEROUS!!!!!

Should of had Quentin Morgan from Leslie Co. Stayed in rifle most of the year. 15 D1's against 2 D1's. There was some real master motivating going on,huh! Next year maybe they'll choose some players and coaches who really want to be there.

Brian Hubbard from Leslie Co.

Leslie Co. brought 4 players to the combine. Ryan Couch wr/cb ran a 4.92 and had a 28 vert. Ryan Howard ran a 4.88, in terrible conditions. 1.41 10 yd. 29 vert. Timmy Baker lb/fb ran a 4.93 40, 18 reps on bench, 4.33 shuttle, 1.43 10 yd. 27 vert. Brian Hubbard 5'8 171 ran a 4.77 40, 16 reps, 1.22 10 yd., 30 in vert. and ran a combine best 3.93 in the shuttle. Some of the guys at the combine chose to only run one 40 time because of time recording misshaps. Times got mixed up AFTER THEY WERE RAN when the girls were trying to record them. After the first run, they were back where they should have been. And there were some good times considering the conditions. The QB from Paintsville, Pugh, ran a 4.60. If you would have been there to see the conditions, you would see why this is a great time. And I also know this. Rockcastle Co. has a bunch of studs, and are loaded!!!

Leslie Co. maxxed out Tuesday, didn't get alot of the squat numbers, heres some notable numbers: Bryan Hubbard benched 275 (5'9 175? cb/wr) James Mosley benched 325 (OL/DL) 7 Lineman over 250 in bench Ryan Howard inclined 265 and squatted 505 (5'8 180? HB/LB/QB/DB)

No, he'll be playing next year. It would have to be a package deal and one of the packages doesn't want to go. I told him to do whats best for him, so looks like whats best for him will be wearing maroon.

When I said easily attainable, I was not meaning that you could just lay around and do very little, and achieve your goal. When I said that, I meant if you really set your goals, and with a good program, you could reach those goals. The numbers were just an example of how we reached our goals that year.

Ryan Howard is the quickest running back i've ever seen in my life. Not the fastest,(very fast though), but the quickest. He's got moves like Barry Sanders, its unreal to watch him run.

Really balanced scoring for Leslie Co.. Hubbard and Day had 18 a piece, Howard had 17, Morgan had 12, Hendrix had 5, and Wells had 4. Now they just don't need to overlook anyone. Because we all remember what happend in football.

I think Quentin Morgan(QB from Leslie Co.)should be added to the team at Qb. I also think Ron Blume got the shaft. How in the world do you put Matt Maynard and Jimmy Chaffins on a roster in front of Ron Blume? Maynards from a winning program, that produced 3 1000 yard rushers, Chaffins had great numbers, competition is a ?, but Blume got his numbers playing in a tough 3A conference.

With a good program, those numbers are easily attainable. The number 600 just doesn't come up alot in these parts, so thats why theres dissbelief. It just takes commitment. Ex. The 1994 Leslie Co. team that went 13-1 and lost to Cov Cath in the state semi's, had 7 guys squatting over 500lbs. The leader was Randall Cobb, who squatted 645, and the bar was bending over his back.

Morgan's gonna take the big guys out on the floor and make them move their feet. He's a good jump shooter and quick, too. I just think Leslie's perimeter players are due a good shooting game. Morgan has 30, team hits a few more 3's than usual, Leslie hits their free throws, and wins by 10.

I think the best 14th region team to not make the sweet sixteen was the 1995-1996 Leslie Co. team. They beat PCC for the 54th District Championship, but couldn't stop Scott Moore and Breathitt Co. He was on fire.
