  1. Can't disagree with that he needs to smooth out a bit. He has improved alot as have alot of the younger players. His pure size and shot blocking is a plus. Needs to add about 30 pounds, He needs to come over to my place more. I might not know much about how to improve his game, but can show him how to eat.
  2. Dittio on Matt strong player, But if we got 20 rebounds as a team we would been lucky. He did lead the team on the boards. I miss a few I know when it comes to tracking them but I am sure I did not miss 13 of them. I agree with the rest of what you said...... Can we please just move on from this thread now.:thumb:
  3. We don't have many games called in Augusta, But at last years Bracken @ Augusta game. Augusta's Todd Kelsch did a awsome job. Would like to hear him call more of them. If he is planing on calling the game tuesday, the system was not working tonight at the Gym for the Girls Game. I agree with G-town on Mason Co., both boys and girls announcers not very good.
  4. There is no doubt they want to win. They will rebound from the last two games. If they have fun like they did the first three games. They have a emotional leader on the bench. Just need the one or two on the floor to pick them up.:thumb:
  5. The game I look forward too the most, This one should be a good one. Hall being back for Bracken is big for them. But its at the Panthers Den. Fans or not this is the game too see. I will take the Panthers by 6
  6. Could not agree more. I was not at this game but know what you are saying.
  7. No one will let this thread die. Thank You too Ureach. I was wondering if you were going to reply. Just so you Know he is 6'+ and can also alternate shots, hit outside shots, play d on the ball, and can run. Please lets not debate this too. Call the Coach He will tell you. All is good.
  8. It seemed to me that Augusta struggled on the boards and MC converted alot of second chance shots, mostly in the first half. I did hear from some Augusta players that the rims seemed a little low.Had kids dunking in warm ups that normally can't. Kinda surprised me. Hey MC nice Gym liked your seats, was thinking I would like them at our den, But really like it the way it is.
  9. I think there has been some misunderstanding on some points and some you are dead on. I apologize to Robin and his Coaching Staff. You could not ask for more from a coach or teacher. I know how much heart he puts into what he does.
  10. Augusta's rebounding stats so far after 4 games 86 total 29 per game. But I know I have missed a few a game. Not offical
  11. Thank You and I agree with you for the most part. Could go on and on but it I will let it rest. Not too sure how many Augusta games people have seen the last couple of years that had made comments on this thread. As far as positions of players go with the stats yes I did concider that . I also realize its a young season and things will change. Not only is Coach Kelsch a good coach but a good teacher and neighbor (as long as he keeps his grass cut). Robin would get that if he were to read this. The time will come for the bench to step up and I will be there. I have seen most of these boys play since they were playing AAU ball and know the hard work they put in and how far they have come. All I want is the best for them and the best is yet to come. I am proud of the entire team, you will not find a better group of young men anywhere. Again thanks for your insight. GO Panthers
  12. First we do miss Gallagher, Second if Groves not hitting kick-outs does hurt and he was in the gym today putting in exta time working on his shot. Good for him, not to many more determined to improve then Matt. Last thing DUDE FGA FGM FG% FTA FTM FT% Rebs Tot Pts Player #1 C 43 18 42% 17 8 47% 25 44 Player #2 F 29 18 62% 9 5 64% 16 43 Thats over 4 JV games, Impressive maybe not, as of yet the best on the team yes. Who deserves to get time off the bench? BOTH and others. And if you think that I am alone in this thinking, you are dead wrong. Im am not saying the other players off the bench should not play. In no way do I think that. They all add something to the game. Just saying the bench is alot deeper then it has been used. Our close game should never had been close. And to say that its Junior Varsity The 4 teams we have played were smaller schools or had young teams that had players that played on both levels.
  13. Sorry to Joe Flannigan with the game high of 22 Pts, Followed by Bray with 10 Balanced the rest of the way.
  14. The numbers don't lie we score in the 1st quarter good, 2nd not so good. Thats when we let teams get back in the game. I may be jealous but so be it. That fact is we need to score and score often. Along with Playin D. There is always more to it. As far as LIL ATown Pride goes. He may not win a game for you, but he sure won't lose one either.
  15. Thats just they way it is. Teams we are not supposed to be able to play with we play hard and sometimes stay with them (at least for a half). Games we are suppose to win walking away, we let them stick around until it bites us in the end. If the bench does not perform Friday it will be a long night you are right. Or maybe, just maybe we need to try some shooters off the bench. Still have a player shooting over 62%, averaging 11 pts per game in JV that has not been on the floor in varsity.
  16. Did not think it would be that bad for the Lady Bears.
  17. Could say that but I have seen all of Augusta's games so I was not too shocked. I did think they would win but I figure most of their games to be close. The bench needs to score more. They are now averaging 8.5 Pts a game from the bench using three players.
  18. Not to sure, I keep a close eye on Augusta. Seemed like they (calvary) were pretty ballanced as a team
  19. Augusta and Calvary went into the half tied at 22 then agian tied at 29 after 3. Then outscored Augusta 21 to 11 to finish out the game. Augusta was led in scoring by Jeremy Hardymon with 13 and Dustin Staggs added 10 Chris Mofford had the only bench points with 6 Matt Groves 5, Josh White 4, Bradye Hamiliton 2 As a team they shot 26% from the feild and 5 for 13 from the charity line. Don't know what to say just got out played. Calvary Christian came out ready to play and their coach seemed to have a good game plan. Dust it off Panthers and get ready for friday Augusta did win the JV game 42-22 Ryan Kelsch led the team with 12 points Ty Krebs added 10 Chris Mofford 8, Joey Crouch 4, Shawn White 4, Thomas Woodruff and Robert Vaughn had 2
  20. I agree, Could be a very interesting game. Good Luck and play hard.
  21. Enjoyed the game. Good to get the bench alot of playing time. Would really like to see them play Mason tomorrow but my boys are playing at home. Will be back when I can. So many games so little time.
  22. These games will be good games. I think we should beat Calvery also but you never know. We had them beat last year and gave it up at the end of the game. I don't think that will be the case this year at home. Montgomery Co. may be another story, we played them hard last year but in the end we got overpowered. We can play with them but need to score off the bench. We have in 3 games so far have have averaged 10 pts a game off the bench with 3 players. That will not in my opinon get it done. We have 3 kids sitting on the bench with better shotting percentages that have not played any Varsity. One of witch that has shot 65% from the feild. You can say that that is against JV teams but most of the teams we have played had key players that played on both teams. We have a deeper bench then most people think. The reason why is because unless you come to the JV games you have not seen them play. In short we have a shot of beating Montgomery Co. Depending on bench play.
  23. According to the all time leading scorers plaque outside Augusta's gym Rachel Hamilton is leader at Augusta with 2122 pts. Not sure if there is another just for Connie if she scored more?
