Here's a thought as well. If the parents sell a house in the Walton Verona school district and move to another school district (for whatever reason), they can't go to Walton Verona any longer. Doesn't Boone County Board of Ed have closed enrollment? So if the Burns family moves to Alexandria, he is no longer able to attend Walton. The same with McNeil, Moeves and I believe McCubbin that moved to Gallatin County. Maybe this is part of what constitutes a valid change of address. I guess the KHSAA has the authority to deny the request waiving the mandatory 1-year ineligibility and these are looked at on a case by case basis. Again, I don't know that this is the case in all of these instances, but selling a house and buying another in a different school system seems to be more easily accepted as a permanent or valid change of address.

Has their family relocated and now lives and works in the Knott County area. Have they bought a house or rented in the area or do they live in school provided housing? I don't know the answers to these questions but it surely hasn't been stated that this is the case. How many students have decided to uproot from around the country and move to Cordia in the last 2 years? And all of this without recruiting? That's the big difference. You're not permitted to recruit players to come to your school. Transfers happen for various reasons that are all valid. Recruiting is not permitted per the KHSAA. If you want to be a "prep school" then go that route.

And soccer, and baseball

Football class A is for the smallest 32 schools while the "All A" is for the smallest 120 schools in the state. That would mean most of the schools in "All A" are AA or even larger for football.

Go small schools !

Ryan is a GREAT kid and I was upset to hear about his injury. I know that UC had shown interest in Ryan for track and that would have been just perfect for his family full of Bearcat fans. I hope his surgery was successful and he has a quick and complete rehab. Best of luck Ryan and I'm sure wonderful opportunities are ahead for you.

This is a district seeding and conference game. I would assume this will need to be made up unless they play in the All A and use that game to satisfy these requirements.

At one point I know a team had the option of not playing the seed game and taking it as a loss toward the seeding and I believe Latin School may have chosen to do that. I also believe that Covington Latin didn't participate in the post season tournament for a long stretch prior to the last couple seasons. Kudos to Dayton for taking on the Breds!

Why would NCC stick to flag football when they have so much success with tackle football? Especially against Somerset. :O

There are quite a few NCC players from Ft Thomas but 'most' of their players live outside the Fort.

Somerset is only "Geographically-limited" because they choose to be. I appreciate Jumper Dad's views and have never seen him make excuses for Somerset's performance. He's been critical when he didn't think they were performing up to their talent level yet always been supportive. I pray that the travel is safe and that both teams remain injury free.

I like when our team has home field advantage and the convenience associated with it. I also like traveling as a fan base and taking our support to someone else's field. I think it also allows the home team to show off their facilities and traditions. I have also experienced some very nice hospitality when visiting other schools. If our team is traveling a couple hours for a game, I want to go to a host school and learn a little more about them. I would have no desire to go to a local college for that game.
