Newport Central Catholic at Newport - 1/6

36th District seeding game & crosstown shootout.

Newport comes into this game with a 3 game winning streak at 6-4 on the season with exciting young talent that's very determined, and nothing to sneeze at.

In a game that theoretically could be a preview to the All 'A' Finals on Jan. 25 @ Dayton if Newport gets past Holy Cross, do the Wildcats have what it takes to pull the shocker, or are the odds stacked WAY too high against them?

Even with the huge odds, this game hints of the potential to be more exciting than the facts on paper would suggest. They always are when you have bragging rights on the line.

Newport Independent Schools will be closed on Monday, January 6 - Due to Inclement Weather.

All evening activities have been canceled. :(

This seems like a 25 to 30 pt game whenever it's played.

I thought schools did away with the automatic cancellation of evening activities when school is closed. I thought they were now re-examining evening activities later in the day in the event the conditions improved.

Simply delaying the inevitable.

Newport Schools are Closed for Tuesday also so since this is a seeding game now it will be interesting to see when this one gets rescheduled. With the All-A coming up soon it may not be for awhile unless they can squeeze it in next week.

New Cath wins big.

What about this Saturday?

Newport doesn't play on Sat. and the Newport girls are away, this could work.

Doesn't NCC have a big game Friday night?

Yes, what does that have to do with Sat.? Although I can see were you might be coming from...........possible trap game?

I would think you would not want a district seeding game to be the third game in 4 nights and the night after a game with a rival.

Understandable, however IMO, this is no contest.

NCC by 30. They have way too much size and experience for Newport!

Not sure if this one will be made up....
