There was an Ohren and Neltner. Can't remember first names but they had a solid team then. I might add Brian O'Conner to that lineup.

Yep. Granted, Beechwood and St. Henry have respectable teams this season, but those aren't teams Brossart is accustomed to losing to. Couple that with a "nail biter" at the Grove and it foreshadows a challenging season.

And already three conference losses.

Could be a long season for the Mustangs, both boys and girls.

There will be a couple of NKY teams playing in the KOB so that might be a good option as well. I know NCC and Holmes are there and I believe another NKY team.

What area would you say this about? In NKY, I would say that close to 90% of the referees are former players. As for part II of the state test. You do realize that most retired and inactive officials continue to register with the state and therefore are not required to take the test, don't you?

As you know, it's all about match-ups. Mayfield is a very strong program and will be a threat to be in the thick of the 2A championship every year. I do however think NCC would have held their own in the last 5-6 years as well.

It sounds to me like the flag may have been legitimate but the administration of the penalty is what the officials screwed up. I'm sure the Douglass coach would have been okay with the penalty had it been correctly administered on the extra point or kickoff and the play stood. As an official, you must know the rules. You would think that officials that are assigned playoff games are the best of the bunch.

NCC JV team is missing Austin Neff and Job Freppon who are still playing football. They will both be major contributors and will add significant strength.
