No Ky Coaches Poll - Week #1

Featured Replies

Thoughts?

I found it a little interesting that someone ranked Camp Co #1 this week. I have not seen them play so I can't say whether this is legit. Can someone else chime in ? Rest of poll looks about right from what I've seen so far.

1. Holmes ( 2 ) 90

2. Newport Catholic ( 7 ) 89

3. Covington Catholic 70

4. Brossart 53

5. Simon Kenton 50

6. Campbell County ( 1 ) 43

7. Cooper 42

8. Boone County 32

9. Dixie Heights 16

9. Ryle 16

Others: Conner 12, Scott 12, Highlands 8, Holy Cross 5, St. Henry 5, Gallatin County 3, Ludlow 2, Newport 2

Where was NCC on the other ballots to not be #1?

I'm not saying it's right or wrong but how does a team get 7 first place votes and still come in at no 2?

I agree. The none #1s had to have them down on the list.

10 votes cast for a total of 100 points if you get all 10 first place votes.

NCC gets 7 for 70. 19 out of the other 3 ballots. My guess would be 9 + 9 + 1. Somebody hates the hill!

Maybe the same guy that sat too long at a bar that gave Camp Co a first place vote? No disrespect to Campbell County but Holmes and NCC are VERY good this year.

Thanks for breaking that voting down. So now we are pretty sure it is one voter. Any guesses on who our mystery voter is?

If Bishop Brossart wins at Holmes tomorrow night, one could then make the case for BB climbing to No. 1 in the next poll.

I guess we need more coaches to vote. With only 10 sending in ballots, 1 omission of NCC from a reasonable ranking skews the result.

If all 20 NKY coaches (Boone/Kenton/Campbell) would vote that one odd ball would not matter.

BTW, Gallatin getting votes ??? Is their school a member of the NKY coaches association ?

...and if a certain Brossart "big man" would have attended his father's alma mater.......YIKES!!!!

Total of 10 ballots returned

(7) 1st place votes = 70 points

3 votes total 19 points so likely (2) 2nd place votes and somebody put them 10th would be my guess.

SK 2-0 moving up.

SK 2-0 moving up.

Next Monday against Holmes will decide whether or not they move up.

SK might rain 3s on them all night!

That happened in third quarter of last year's SK-Holmes game. Pioneers led by 3 or 4 going into 4th quarter, as I recall. Good game.

IF SK is ever going to beat Holmes this is the year. They are good from top to bottom.
