I also wonder if this was racially motivated. Because God knows that if it is a white shooter and a minority officer then it sure is. In fact, If Ponder had shot back the press would be calling him a racist for pulling over the car to begin with.

I am SO sick of the bad guys getting the breaks. One slain police officer is one too many. And now the gutless cop-killer-vigilantes out there - who apparently have nothing much to live for to begin with - will turn around and say that they were mistreated once in custody.

Let's say for the sake of argument that Male, Trinity, and Scott Co. are the top three teams in 6A. I think any of them beat any other top three teams in their class (3A, 4A, whatever). The question then becomes can Simon Kenton or St. X or Manual beat the #4 , #5 , & #6 teams in those divisions? I am going to go with "yes". Could there be an upset on a given night? Sure. But play the games 10 times and all 6 of the 6A teams will sport a 9-1 record (except for H & T which will be 10-0). 6A all day long.

I think X bounces back huge. I predict a running clock.

It is a sad commentary that a very honest mistake by a police officer involving a celebrity (and I use the term loosely for James Blake) gets all the press, while the killing of an officer will not get the same attention.

I wonder how James Blake feels about this?

BTW, the exception to the colleges not being able to beat the pros (or high schools being able to beat colleges) is baseball. With a stud pitcher on the mound and a couple of errors by your opponent, the underdog could sneak out 1 victory in 50 tries. Easily.

Bishop Gorman could hang with Centre or Kentucky Weslyan, but a D1 school?! BG would be humiliated and suffer a number of injuries in the process.

Whoever loses the T vs. H game should remain #2 , provided the margin is 14 pts. or less.

T is trying to remain the underdog for the X game.

I am betting T's student section (which has been off the chart this season) will be as large as H's. This will be an electric night. I hoping for 35-21 Trinity, and furthermore hoping everyone on both sides (players/fans/parents) behave themselves and remember it is a high school football game.

FYI: Game is kicking off 5 minutes late for a 9/11 ceremony (well done H). Treat it like church and be in your seats by 7:30.

I think Beatty, Cobb, Coverdale, & Co. would win state with the Lafayette players if they had them four four years and those kids put in the extra time and bought into the system.

if you knew nothing about the teams and saw them both warming up you would think they were evenly matched, but once the whistle blew it was easy to tell which team had put in more time preparing.

Let's not forget WKU had probably 10 dropped passes and a player (on defense where they are NOT deep) ejected for targeting. Still got the W. Thank goodness the Vandy QB sucked.
