Fine. Let's say this is true. I will bet the farm that if BG asks T, "Hey next time can we get mats put down on the entire gym floor so we can use that entire area?" T would oblige. I saw T's accommodations the last time they were in BG. It was not the Ritz Carlton, but I don't think anyone complained.

I'm not trying to bring up any other thread (don't even know of one) and I am not trying to stir any pot. I just know both schools pretty well and I have no idea what the issue is/was. But if everyone want to be secretive about it so be - I won't lose any sleep.

On a different note, thank goodness the 6A game was Saturday; I heard it was a yucky misty rain on Friday. And congrats to all of the state champs. August cannot come quickly enough to many BGPers! :thumb:

I am really not upset that DH starters scored on the T reserves. If you poll HS coaches, however, I think most would say that when the team leading pulls starters the correct thing to do is follow suit on the next series. In fact, the protocol is to pull offensive starters first and let the trailing team first team defense stop them (which happened). Slight breach of etiquette to not follow with all second stringers after that, compounded by throwing deep. Sorry, but a 94 yard passing TD and a 2-pt conversion against basically the JV guys are nothing to be proud of at that point. Be proud of your season? Absolutely!; be proud of your last series? Eh...

I used to work at BGHS; I know the school pretty well. I sent a kid to T; know that school pretty well too. Cannot IMAGINE either of those schools treating the other poorly in any way shape or form. Would love to know what the issue was, as I know T takes great pride in how they treat opponents on campus.

Birds deserved it though; winning the second half 28-0.

I'll take a boring victory over an exciting loss.

The first one is Dave Parker, the second is Tim, the third is Probably Morgan Freeman (though it could be Dennis Haskins). No idea on the "blue train".

Keep in mind that most of these folks are dads or alums living vicariously through their sons/school. Yes some go over the top, music between every play is VERY bush league, and everyone could benefit from the "less is more" philosophy, but overall nothing to get too bent out of shape over.

Went to this game. The shortest T starter was taller than the tallest kid Jeff had. This could have been a lot worse, but T played zone in the second half. If all T wanted to do was build Spalding's Mr. Basketball resume they could have easily had him score 50, and that is no exaggeration whatsoever.

And for the record H (IMO easily the #2 team in the state) has figured that out and scheduled T the next couple of years. So has PRP. Home and home on both. Very different than getting a local team to play you by giving them a paycheck to come get pummeled.

Attention schools that avoided scheduling T over the last 5 or 6 years: Be careful what you wish for. :sssh:

I think the biggest issue in this game is how each team prepares for an opponent that is so much different from the previous week. Meade Co. put zero pressure on Young, whereas Dixie will want to pressure him all night. And Dixie certainly has not had to prepare for an offense like Trinity's. This game may very well be won or lost on Tues/Wed/Thurs of this week.

Trinity has had it's share of blow outs in the championship game courtesy of the way the brackets fell (Ryle, PRP, Scott Co.), but I think this one is different. I think the Rocks come from behind, 23-21.

T played the second (and even third) team most of the 4th quarter. Defensively they were shuttling 5 or 6 guys in and out every play. I am sure there were a few guys that may not have gotten to play on Friday, but there were a whole lot of guys on a whole lot of other teams that didn't get to play anywhere on Friday. Success breeds contempt. IMO holding others in contempt feels worse than being held in contempt courtesy of the bonds of jealousy. Feeling good about another BG trip! Go Rocks!

2 close scrimmages... Rocks are going to have a tough season, but I think they will be up to the task
