If the correct Lou X team shows up then I believe the earn the underdog victory.

This match-up will be tougher than any potential playoff game for T. In fact, If T is fortunate enough to win the 6A title, the easiest game left on their schedule right now would be the state final game.

Anyone know the all time M vs. H series record?

If T had converted the two point try at the end of last Friday's game do you have a 3-way tie for first? 1, 2, & 3 from the same district looks about right to me. If M shocks H again this year I thin they move up to #4.

Ummmm... even with the injuries that T is dealing with, I kind of doubt this will be a "mercy rule" game. 37-7 seems like a stretch as well. And if H wanted to complete 60 passes against T, last year was the year they should have done it. T may be the underdog, but I cannot remember the last time they lost by 30+ at home. This should be a pretty good football game.

If T wins they will not get to 2-0 in the district; they would finish district play 2-1. A loss and the Rocks end district play at 1-2. Really makes the game even BIGGER for us folks in St. Matthews.

Nero not as big a deal as all would like to believe. T has faced 6 or 8 players better than him this year already. Comical to me that folks think that he could single handedly flip the scales. That said, this game is very much a toss up. T still has 3 DBs out and M has the home field advantage. I'll go 21-19 T, but my confidence level is not where I would like it to be.

Those tags are very subjective and in no way synonymous.

I am hearing folks say that H is going to roll, but I think X really began playing with swagger last week. I am picking the Tigers, 27-19.

You can argue that T played poorly, but I think that was a direct result of what X brought to the table last night. Noah Houk - deservedly - had his day.

If you play this game 10 times X would probably win 2.

Head-to-head outweighs the "common opponent" argument IMHO. Make it a 20 year period and it is X in a landslide.

As to the question, the edge to BG simply because I would give more weight to the last 5 years than to the 5 years before that.

I am a big Purples fan; lived in BG for years and if I were still there my kids would be at BGHS. But I am a realist also. BGHS is the only city high school in Warren County. A number of county residents pay tuition to go to BGHS. Yes, Louisville is 10 times bigger in population, but there are 10 times as many high schools also. If you want to argue that T, X, H, Manual, HHS have some sort of logistics advantage, you cannot argue that BGHS does not.

I give T a slight edge in a number of areas: 1) talent, 2) strength of schedule, 3) coaching, 4) scheme. Go Rocks!

I'm hearing a couple of defensive starters are injured for T. Confident though that others will step up and get the victory.

Tigers D should keep Central to maybe 1 TD. It's the Tiger O that needs to find a rhythm. If they are clicking early this should be a similar outcome to that of Fairdale.

3 games in 8 days is tough. The DeSales loss is a bigger deal in my mind. No shame at all in the Moeller score.

Wedding notwithstanding, this was a very good team from PA. Game was closer than the final score indicates. Would love to see how H would match up with them. There are not more than a few teams in KY that would not have absolutely gotten bullied by this Imhotep team.

Almost avoided this thread, but couldn't help myself. I remember when I lived in BG in the late 80s and the folks from BGHS being so sure that WC would beat T in the state championship(s). Not really close. Those who know me know that I am a still a BG fan (seems like yesterday Cannon Simpson was draining 3s for his dad in the gym!), but if BG & T met every year for the past 25 years BG would be about 3-22. But arguably the only other teams in KY that could post a better record than that are X & H & HHS (and H & HHS would not be more than a game or 2 better). X had a strong mid 90s run, but they are still (I'm guessing) 5 games under .500 over the last 25 years? Yes BG has beaten X the last 4 years, but T has not lost to the Tigers since '09 (I think). Having said that I really do not think you can compare streaks from two different generations very effectively anyway. I would seriously like to see BG win out this year. Then go 15-0 again next year... why not? Enjoy the streak and don't worry how it does or doesn't compare to guys who played when your parents were freshmen in high school. And as much as I loved it when T played BG for a few years (and won every contest, even when T had to use its #4 QB at BG), I am thinking there will be no talk of reviving that series until BG notches a loss.

I think BG has been better than X of late and may very well be better than X this year, but for some reason I think the Tigers pull this one out.
