Scott Daniel is a much better football player than James Quick. Daniel is WAY faster than Quick in the 100 yard dash. I hear Ohio State is really pursuing Scott Daniel big time. Scott Daniel, you know, is the all-time leading receiver in the state of Kentucky and the only player in state history to score a touchdown in the state championship 4 years in a row. Wait a minute... am I getting these two kids mixed up?

This should be the biggest game today (maybe the biggest for the weekend)... Not much interest though?

They didn't get in on in football, so all the bragging rights are on the shoulders of the hoops teams. T still does not have Quick; are there any football players that have been added to the BG roster? Both made it to Rupp last year. Thoughts on this game?

T is able to host a LOT of events on the field and draw people to the campus. Back in the day everyone (even PE classes) had to stay off of the field. Soccer & football couldn't even practice on it! So the overall "cost" or "benefit" cannot be measured in a simple $20,000 x 20 years fashion.

Then put T on the schedule! BG and Trinity are the 2 teams I have connections to, so I would love to see them go at each other again on the field. Congrats to the Purples! 15-0 puts you in elite company.

My 2 cents (ok, 4 cents): 1. X is the second best team in 6A and SC is 3rd. Really no discussion necessary. 2. There were really only a few kids on PRP that instigated the "chippiness"; However, those few bad apples made the entire team look bad. 3. Trinity could have won this game without Quick. And Dawkins. And Wright. 4. PRP fan base was fantastic. Now T sees if they can win without this senior class. I don't know if I would bet against them.

Possible, but maybe not probable. I think PRP would just like to know one way or the other for certain! (It has to make it tougher for them to prepare I would think?)

I there were a tournament played among teams that have been eliminated thus far, X would win it.

PRP has a better chance of scoring 52 on T in a varsity baseball game.

PRP would be the favorite half of the time in baseball or basketball or bowling. But this is not baseball, basketball, or bowling. T 35 - PRP 13.

Sounds like T will have all they can handle. Eastern may not be in the top tier of the 6A Big Boys, but 61 points is 61 points.

Happy for the Purples, but I do feel bad for JH. Tough, tough loss for them.

T got the benefit of some questionable calls and they got the short end of the stick on others. I thought it was balanced for the game. I actually thought they were fairly decent overall. The calls that were "iffy" just seemed to happen at very key points of the game. SC executed their game plan VERY well. #1, #23, & #16 played their hearts out for SC.

Montrell Jones at Male, 4 full years starting on the varsity team, making it to the state final game in 2 of those years and playing (I am 99% sure) a full 10 game regular season each year. So to compare: Quick = 45 varsity games, Jones = approx. 56 games (depending on any games he may have been injured for, and guessing Male got bounced in round 3 in years when they didn't make the finals.) This does not even take into account that Male was not facing Brentwood, Cathedral, Cincy X, Moeller, MBA, and Elder. I'm no expert, but I think it is relatively difficult to put up numbers against those defenses. A pretty big accomplishment for Mr. Quick.

The folks at Central should be terrific hosts.

A few things about Mr. Quick that are perhaps underappreciated: 1. He is not afraid to catch balls going across the middle of the field. 2. He has a 6th sense about when to reverse fields, backpedal 25 yards, and net a big gain vs. when to go north for a few extra yards. 3. He is an excellent downfield blocker. 4. He goes 100% even when being used as a decoy. 5. He doesn't thump his chest or say the wrong thing in interviews.

Let us not forget that Quick is the all-time leading receiver in the state of Kentucky despite not playing varsity until 2/3 of the way through his freshman year and missing the last 2 or 3 games of his senior year, and with T playing only 9 regular season games each of the last 2 years. In essence, he set the record in more like 3 years of varsity games (against the very best teams in 4 states!)

Anyone who has ever seen Mr. Quick play knows he is the choice. Missing the last 2 (or 3) games should not be an issue. At all.
