Scott Daniel of Scott County has been selected Class 6A player of the year by the Kentucky Football Coaches Association; Ryan Timmons of Franklin County is tops in 5A, and Kentayvus Hopkins of Bourbon County earned 3A honors.

I had to read that multiple times to make sure it was a vote for the entire state and not just a region of the state.

Pardon my ignorance, but who is Scott Daniel?

6A POY!

6A POY!

Duh!

#12, I believe, for Scott County. He played very well against Trinity.

Too bad there wasn't a player that was the all time leading receiver in state history to offer voters another choice.

Gerad Parker graduated many years ago.

Wish they'd share the vote count. Daniel is a good football player but can't compare to Quick. Maybe he got this one because everyone assumes JQ will be Mr. Football? I know I'm biased regionally, but Tyler Durham is a fantastic football player (from Campbell County). With only a few 6A schools in NKY, was there just not enough votes from the area? Louisville coaches voting for their own (T and X) to allow a split?

Congratulations to the young man but I am certainly surprised.

Some coaches who vote anonymously will play games and hold grudges against other coaches and/or schools.

It happens in NKY.

Alot of talk in NKY about Fogle being a Mr. Football candidate. Wonder how he did in voting behind Timmons? I think Timmons is the better player and deserved the award in 5A.

It's a nice honor to be in the discussion.

It's a two-man race and really it's a one-man race.

I may be wrong about this, but I do NOT think the POY's for each class are done by 'coaches vote' like the POY/COY for Districts.

Interesting.

14 posts in and no one has answered my question seriously ... who is Scott Daniel? Position? Accomplishments? (Yes, I know he plays for Scott Co. I can read)
