Friend emailed me about this game. Said X was up 7-2 in the 4th quarter and then T scored 22 in under 8 minutes. Anyone have details? I am thinking there must have been a turnover or two.

Ellison & Bethel are starters; Smith might as well be. Lage is a back-up, but a good one. Also Cole Spencer is a junior.

75 votes and 160+ posts, most of which don't even involve the game. How about everyone (myself included) stick to football and leave financial aid, CSAA, JV players, etc. to other forums?

Also, per the KHSAA is it perfectly within the rules to give the one family $10,000 and the other nothing (or the second family $1000 and the first nothing). You just cannot give over the demonstrated need. I don't know how X gives out their money. They do not disclose.

If there is demonstrated need, then yes. But if one family has a $10,000 demonstrated need and another has a $1000 demonstrated need then (assuming T can meet around 65% of need) one family gets $6500 and the other gets $650.

Good point: Back to the game. I have seen T play a few times and they should win it with defense. Woosley just has to not try to do too much, which he has been great at doing all season. Just get the ball to Reed, Jones, Carrico, Burns, Smith and let them do their thing. The O-line for the Rocks better treat this like a rematch of the Male game and play angry (inspired). If X can sustain a couple of drives with a balance of run/pass (and the occasional trick play) this will be a dogfight. Earlier I took T 28-21 and I am sticking with that. A 40-0 T win would not surprise me, but neither would a 22-17 loss. X hanging a running clock on the Rocks would be the only thing that would surprise me.

Trinity is giving 2.7 million in aid this year. And they distribute it equally - based on percentage needed - to all regardless of their need. X does not disclose how they distribute.

X faithful know exactly who the T players are from the first time they play as freshmen. X casual fans learn who they are over the next 4 years. X elitists don't care; they only know 3 possible outcomes. 1) We won because we were better, 2) the scoreboard may not say we won but we were the better team, and 3) you are inferior because you have a handful of non-CSAA players and therefore we are better than you on a deeper, non-football level.

All I know about NH is that Andre Woodson went there (at least I think he did.) I am going with the South Side Colts!

Always happy to see the Purples succeed. This will depend on scheduling, more precisely the philosophy of scheduling. The football gods punished BG for backing out of a game to (some would say) keep the streak alive. It is a catch 22 whether they want to schedule X, T, or TN schools or take on easier KY opponents.

The difference in the two schools is that X is German Catholic and T is Irish Catholic. Neither "better" than the other, but each better at what they do. Old school Catholics will understand.

Back to the game: If the T defense shows up that played at Brentwood and against PRP then the Rocks will be fine. If they are on their heels like against H there could be problems. T needs a BIG game from their O-line.

And I know of 2 kids (both freshmen football players at the time) who were going to have to serve suspensions at T for substance abuse and instead transferred to X and were eligible right away. That train travels in both directions.

If Duece and Victor had won 6 state championships between them then everyone would be throwing stones at them. But you can win one and fly under the radar.

PRP is not the litmus test. I'll still take T, 28-21 (but I hope it's T with a running clock)

3rd & 4th quarters were only 8 minutes each. T quarterback only threw 4 passes all night. That might be an all-time low for a Bob Beatty QB at T.
