Daviess County 65 Silver Grove 36
I think the final was 64 to 36. The Grove actually cut it to 9 in the 3rd quarter before Daviess opened with a big run in the 4th. Pelle was out due to injury or illness for the Grove. The Big Trains played hard and got good looks. They were just way outmanned sizewise, as Daviess point guard was bigger than the Grove's center. Kurtis Stanton led the way with 4 three pointers for the Trains. Coach Sharp has his kids playing hard against a very quality schedule that has already included: St. Pats, Brossart, Campbell, Beechwood and Daviess.

Lloyd Christmas Tournament
My thought is the Silver Grove game may start closer to midnight than 9:30. The people running this better hope none of the early games go into overtime. As for teams, Holmes, Boone and Daviess are the best 3.

Campbell County's New Coach????
Any update on this? I would think they would have to make a choice this week. Who would be considered the favorite right now?

D-Day for the KY Post and Northern Kentucky Newspaper coverage
I think Ryan Ernst does a terrific job. Much better than Ray Schaffer of previous years. The Enquirer's coverage has improved drastically. They weren't as good as the Post and Terry Boemker, but I am sure they will expand their coverage.

Any updates on what is going on with this and the Reitz situation?

HCs Corey Sorrell Verbals to NKU
Another example of the politics at NKU. McFarland isn't a D 3 player let alone a starter for NKU. And Corey Pelle is so much better than Sorrell it is an absolute joke. The only thing Sorrell does better is shooting a set shot. This makes no sense to me.

N.KY EAST/WEST GAME
Pelle put on a show and was by far the best player on the court. He ended up with 27 points-but more impressively had 5 blocks, one which was a dunk attempt by Charles Johnson of Lloyd. The east team won 99-85. From what I can remember the rosters were: Rosters and the KY Post article is here: http://news.kypost.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070621/SPT0402/706210314/1026/NEWS02

New Silver Grove coach named
Matt Sharp, the JV coach the past 2 years, will lead the Big Trains. Sharp is a hard worker, and the kids respect him. He will do a great job. http://news.kypost.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070508/SPT0402/705080323/1026/NEWS02 http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/AB/20070508/SPT0302/705080333/

Who will be the next coach at Silver Grove?
Matt Sharp has been named the new head coach of the Big Trains after 2 years as the JV coach. Matt is young, energetic and well respected by the kids in the program. He will do an excellent job as Sharp will be extremely dedicated and work his tail off. The Trains return 2 starters and have a nice group of current freshman. They have their best draw in years in the All "A" tourney as well. Congrats Matt!

Herald out at Beechwood
Anyone have any details? They have the most talent of the D 3 N. KY teams next year.

Who said it #2?
The Dayton Dazzler himself. Kinda looks like Skirvin, too. One of the best running backs in the past 15 years in N.KY. Great player, even better person.

Seems like Turley has bounced around a lot.

Billy Hicks (Scott Co) named Coach of the Year
Mike Code should have been on here. No superstars, played a brutal schedule and simply won. Best defensive mind in the state.

Pelle to sign with WLS today...
No, but there may be a celebration there afterwards! I believe the announcement is on the marquee outside of Pelle's . Congrats to Corey. It has been a pleasure watching you play. For any younger players who read this site-Corey is the perfect example of hard work and dedication paying off. I look forward to making a few trips to Wheeling in the next couple years!

NKY Unsung Heros??
Where is he going to school?
-
NKY Unsung Heros??
Aaron Allen of Silver Grove. He only played two years of organized basketball and had a great senior year behind Pelle and Wiseman. Allen had multiple triple doubles-and avg 9 rebounds and 3 blocks a game. Best game of the year was in the district, where he had 16 points (8 of 8 from the field) and 9 rebounds against Brossart. No telling how good he would have been if he would have played earlier in life.

Austin Hill wins POY...
From a close source, there was no limit. Holmes should have had 3 players on the team, no doubt.
