N.KY EAST/WEST GAME

Featured Replies

Anyone have any info? I believe the game was scheduled for last night. Players? Coaches? Score? Any stand outs?

Pelle put on a show and was by far the best player on the court. He ended up with 27 points-but more impressively had 5 blocks, one which was a dunk attempt by Charles Johnson of Lloyd. The east team won 99-85. From what I can remember the rosters were:

Congrats to Heritage's Casey Moore who concluded his career with 13 points -- nice job.

Sounds like a fun game.

I heard Pelle looked real good, but the game was missing a lot of the top players in the area.

Hill and Rice from Holmes...they of course are playing with the KY All-Stars

Hester and Hurd from SK

Sharp from Scott

Uebel and Cooper from Brossart

Jacobs from CovCath

Kiernan from NewCath

I hope that Mr. Pelle's performance soothed some of his naysayer's doubts about his ability to perform against top flight competition.

I agree with you that Pelle can perform at a high level, but I would not call last night's competition top notch.

Certainly much higher caliber than that which he faced at the Division III level.

My point is - the boy is a player. Regardless of who, when, and where he plays.

I felt that he was the most underrated player in Northern Kentucky and believe that local college coaches may have let the big one get away!

I agree mustang. He would have been a great fit for NKU, much better than McFarland / Bibbins....etc....

I agree 100% :thumb:

When you look at the rosters there were a lot of very good players who did not play in this game. Who selects the rosters?

Often in these summer all-star games the question is often more who is available. I'm sure that all of the "upper crust" senior performers were invited (or selected by their coaches) to play, but many are simply not available do to baseball commitments etc..

This game was also rescheduled from an earlier date if I'm not mistaken, which would further complicate obtaining commitments from all of the top seniors.
