Harrison Co. coach resigns

Featured Replies

Lee Kendall has resigned as boy's basketball coach at Harrison Co. He will become the school's new athletic director. No word on potential replacements for him, though it seems that none of his assistant coaches are interested in assuming the head coaching position.

Any chance Reitz from Campbell would have any interest in coming back and coaching his son?

I heard this could happen. I'm happy for Coach Kendall. I think he will do a great job as AD.

As for who will be the next coach, who knows. Reitz would make sense, but he's only got 1-2 more years before he's going to retire.

Reitz would be a "good" short term solution, but I'm not sure about the long term. It would be nice to have a program implemented that addressed both. It will be interesting to see what happens!!

Reitz would be leaving some good talent at Campbell County....they would probably be considered the district preseason favorites.

I am trying to think who I would be like to see get this position. I am sure I will be getting a call on this.

I agree with jahearme, Coach Kendall will do great as the AD. He knows a lot about a lot of sports, anyone can tell that by his columns in the Cynthiana Democrat. He is one of those coaches that supported every sport that was in season. Good Luck and Congrats to Coach Kendall on the AD job!

There are a couple of guys that used to play for Scott County that are currently coaches that I would like to see have a chance at this job. Whoever comes in should have some talent with the younger high schoolers.

Reitz is going to get it as long as the money is good. Lee Kendall should do better as the Athletic director than as the coach in my opinion. Good luck to lee and the new coach for the breds. Good luck breds.

What happened to the old AD?

Coach Whitaker stepped down as AD a couple of months ago.

Thanks Thorobred, didn't know Coach W had stepped down. He is still going to coach the Breds in baseball isn't he? I know Coach Kendall from his days at Pendleton Co. He will do an outstanding job as AD.

Coach Whitaker is still in charge of the Breds baseball team and the Fillies basketball team.

I have heard rumors of Reitz or Hundley.

I believe Hundley is a negative. He has already signed a contract with Montgomery Co. They would have to let him out of his contract in order for him to go to Harrison.

They would probably let him out of his contract for a head coaching position.
