CrestwoodKnowitall Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Couldn't happen to a more deserving guy.. congradulations Coach Hicks
Hoops Yoda Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 He did a great job this year of maximizing the talents of his team. The move to insert Jimmy Warren into the starting line up was brilliant and really paid off. Encouraging Cam Hundley to embrace his role as a defensive stopper against the likes of Novosel, Rice (Holmes), the kid who won player of the year in Nevada, and other post players was also something he should be commended for. The highest praise is that he is a great role model for the boys at SC. He should also be commended for the schedule - he didn't dodge anyone. Congratulations coach Hicks!
shooterx3 Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 People don't realize how hard it is sometimes to juggle all that talent and keep everyone on the same page, give credit to Coach Hicks for playing the toughest schedule in the state and coming out on top:thumb:
rojas4 Posted April 15, 2007 Author Posted April 15, 2007 Maybe, just maybe, the reason Scott Co has talent each year is because of their basketball program. It don't just fall out of the air.
nomorenoles Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Coach Hicks is an absolute gym rat. He works his butt off and his kids improve dramatically. He spends more time in the gym than about anyone in the game.
Log Mountain Boy Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 He deserved it. His team accomplished something this year that no one accomplished in almost 60 years. Coach Hicks is 2nd to none in the state of Kentucky when it comes to high school coaching.
Cinderella Man Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 People don't realize how hard it is sometimes to juggle all that talent and keep everyone on the same page Sounds like a great problem to have...
pastmyprime Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Mike Code should have been on here. No superstars, played a brutal schedule and simply won. Best defensive mind in the state.
rojas4 Posted April 17, 2007 Author Posted April 17, 2007 Bishop Brosart had 6 games against top 25 teams this year. That is a pretty good schedule but not compair to some of the 11th region teams' schedules. Brossart was 2-4 against top 25 teams.
Big Game Player Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Congrats Coach Hicks for a great season and winnng the title.
westsider Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 I also feel like Mike Code should have been in the running ... he did a great job and I love the way his team plays defense.
