cshs81
From Ryan Ernst's blog: Sorrell to NKU ... Holy Cross shooting guard Corey Sorrell has committed to Northern Kentucky University, Indians coach Erik Goetz said Tuesday. As a junior, the 6-foot-3 Sorrell averaged 15.7 points per game and shot 44 percent from 3-point range. Judging by the leap Sorrell made from his sophomore to junior seasons, it seems like a pretty good get for Holy Cross grad Dave Bezold and the rest of the NKU staff. I'd expect a big senior season from Sorrell.

Unless he has made significant improvements since last season how is he going to compete at NKU when Pelle, Uebel, Jacobs were so lightly recruited by NKU? He is nowhere near as athletic or physical as the three mentioned above and he takes a long time to get that three off. Nice HS player but there were a lot better players in Northern Kentucky last year who didn't get recruited by NKU.
pastmyprime
Another example of the politics at NKU. McFarland isn't a D 3 player let alone a starter for NKU. And Corey Pelle is so much better than Sorrell it is an absolute joke. The only thing Sorrell does better is shooting a set shot. This makes no sense to me. Tiger1
This one has me scratching my head. But I wish Corey the best of luck.

He's no less athletic and has no less ability to get his shot off than Steve Purdon did and he did fine.

ColonelNation32
Good defender but on the other side he is terrible. He is part of the reason why they lost the last game
striker
Pelle and Jacobs are both better IMO, but good luck to Corey...
Qryche11
Why all the bashing of kids here.... how about congratulating the kid and wishing him good luck. Sorrell is a fine player who knows how to put the ball in the basket and with increased strength he will do fine at NKU. I agree that Pelle is a better all around player than Sorrell and I wish they would have recruited him first just so I could actually get to see him play. Don't think anyone is going out of their way to bash kid, wish him well at NKU but if he is a better player than any of the kids mentioned above then I am missing something. I saw HC play 5 times last season and never once left the gym thinking Sorrell was the best player on the floor. I saw Pelle play three times and all against bigger schools and he was the best player on the floor every time.

BGGreen
First congratulations to Corey and good luck in your senior season @ HC and at NKU!! If he can add some bulk, work on creating his own shot, his quickness and maybe grow a little, he may help them down the road. That said however, I don't see how NKU is supposedly preparing for a move to D-1, or even back to the top of D-2 recruiting kids like McFarland, Sorrell, Bibbins, Rasso, etc. All were/are fine HS players. but not even near the top of D-2 talent-wise IMO?? I'd also agree with several above that kids like Pelle, Uebel, Jacobs, Hill, etc. were far better all around players and bring more to the table than Corey does. Add me to the head scratching crowd on this one, but not the first time with this NKU coaching group??

cshs81
That said however, I don't see how NKU is supposedly preparing for a move to D-1, D1 plans vanquished last year when the school decided it would be too expensive. I don't see it anytime in the next 5 to 8 years.
