Tony Bacigalupo has stepped down as coach of the Big Trains. Who will replace him?

What are the reasons for Coach Bacigalupo stepping down? Does he have a high profile job in line?

I would say Pelle and Wiseman are gone....

Could be...Steve has sewn some roots down there and I am sure he is itching to get back into coaching.

I hope he does get back into coaching... One of the most animated coaches in the profession... COME ON STEVE, COME BACK!

Silver Grove is losing a great coach.

Tony did a fine job as the youngest coach in the Commonwealth and I would hope would stay involved in the high school game.

 

Silver Grove is a tough situation and it takes a special type of person to get the job done there. Both Steve Hart and Tony did admirable jobs and if he is healthy and interested, a return to the sidelines by Steve Hart would be welcomed.

Nobody should get too excited about Coach Hart returning to the sidelines for Silver Grove b/c that is not going to happen. As I am someone who played for coach hart for 5 seasons, I know he will not return to coaching at Silver Grove.

I also want to say that Tony did an amazing job down here @ Silver Grove. He knew what he was doing from day one and he did a great job at it. Coach Hart couldn't have picked a better person to replace him when he stopped coaching a few years back. I know everyone down here would like to thank Tony for everything that he has down at this school and with the team the past two seasons. He and his coaching staff did a tremendous job and they and we all are proud of what they have done to keep Silver Grove's basketball team rolling. Thank you to Matt Sharp And Mike Fennell for all that you two have done also. Tony couldn't have had two better assistants sitting beside him during every game. Tony, thanks for all that you have done. You helped the tradition roll on in Silver Grove. Good luck in everything that you guys have ahead of you and I hope all goes well. Thanks for everything.

 

PS. Don't forget that all three of you will be known as Grovers from now on too. Enjoy it!! :thumb:

Tony, you have done a fine job and I see why the "Grovers" admire you. Hopefully, you will continue somewhere on the hardwood. Not sure what's in store for the future grovers, but hopefully they will land on their feet and get a quality young replacement. Seems like it would take that special someone under somewhat challenging circumstances.

I don't know why he did, but working with him here, I am amazed that he was able to coach basketball and work full time. The stress level of our job is overwhelming at times, and for him to take that on, and guide a talented Silver Grove team is incredible. The Silver Grove has shown its appreciation and I want to express my admiration, b/c I know first hand how much was on Tony's plate before taking over as a head varsity basketball coach. Congrats Baci.

Tony told me something very similar to this. His full time job is very demanding. He also told me it was hard to expect his players to give 100% to the basketball program when he couldn't do it himself.
