The Big Trains pulled out a thriller with a 30 ft 3 pointer by sub Donnie Davidson at the buzzer. Davidson only played 2 minutes in the entire game, but came up huge when it counted. Corey Pelle had 39 points for Silver Grove, as the Trains finished 3rd out of 16 in a very competitive Berea Tournament. Pelle is the most underrated player in the state...PERIOD. He will make some college very happy.

Where is Englert for the Patties?

The Big Trains came back from 23 down with 6 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter to win by 3. They trailed 37-18 at the half. Wiseman and Pelle combined for 50 second half points, and the Grovers shot 19/22 from the foul line. The face Bowling Green tomorrow at 8 pm in the semi's of the Berea Invitational. Montgomery County plays the winner of Estill Co./Mad. Southern. Pelle and Wiseman are an absolute enjoyment to watch!

Brossart's closest game thus far was Silver Grove 70 to 59.

Pelle had 33 as Bellevue used multiple defenses on him and Wiseman. Pelle will be very sore today.

Corey Pelle had 39 and Teddy Wiseman had 22 as the Big Trains won 73-64. Pelle is averaging 28 a game this season and has seen every type of defense.

I heard Mutsch may not play at all this year-that Xavier doesn't want him playing hoops. Is there any truth to this?

The Grove will continue to improve and Pelle will make those around him better. Currently they are starting 2 kids who have never played high school basketball at any level-not even freshman. Both are good athletes and will get better. The have 3 conference games coming up and then visit Scott before going to the Berea Tourney after Christmas.

Pelle put on quote a performance. He is averaging 27 ppg through 3 games. That is facing a traditionally tough Brossart D, St. Pat's had 2 guys on him and Campbell played a box and one. Wiseman has avg 11 points a game, but they someone other than those 2 to step up and score.

This game is at Campbell County Middle School. Should be a good one.

Does anyone have a list of all day scrimmages? I heard some schools are hosting all day scrimmages starting this Saturday. Harrison County usually hosts one. Maybe Mustang can give us some insight into the 10th Region.

Pelle got snubbed by whoever does the Cats Pause rating. He is definately a top 5 player, and he will be out to prove this right away.

The 10th region ratings are a joke. Miller and Knowles are the only 2 that should be ahead of Pelle. The 9th ratings are reflection of a coaches rating, but the 10th is one person's opinion. Look for Pelle to prove people wrong, as he is coming off a great junior year and great summer with Shining Stars.

It may seem far-fetched, but last year they averaged 69 pts a game, with playing Brossart (who many consider the best defensive team in the state) 3 times. They had 2 players avg 20 a game and 2 players avg 10 a game, so as crazy as it may seem, it could be possible.

Corey's running mates will be his cousin Steven Pelle and Teddy Wiseman. Teddy had a 34 pt game last season and had over 40 in a summer game vs. Augusta. Steven has grown 3 inches and improved much over the summer. Look for him to get around 15 ppg and Wiseman could be close to 20 a game. I would not be surprised if Corey Pelle is in the top 5 in the state in scoring. Their guards are solid, but they need help inside. I wouldn't be surprised to see their coach start 5 guards and score a bunch of points. If they can defend and rebound, they will surprise people.

Silver Grove's backcourt could be the best in the district. They need to improve on the boards and defensively to duke it out with the big boys. They will be tested early as they open at home vs. Brossart, which is the Mustangs first trip to the Grove in years.
