There have been changes to the plan....I hear that there are plans to put 1000 more seats and that the main entrance will be brick with an in-layed "X". There has been talk that these bricks can be purchased with the buyers name engraved to be a permananent part of the stadium.... I have not talked to my source since he first told me of these plans...so I do not know if they will become reality.....but depending on the price of the bricks....I think I might just have to purchase some in the name of some of my favorite and not so favorite BGP Trinity posters.....I think it would be great to see LSUROCK, TD, RM, TAlum, Rock 86, QB42, and RP become permanent contributors to X history!

Male and Manual are great rivalries...but the biggest...is easily Trinity.....There is a whole week of festivities gearing up for this game......St.X/ Trinity week had to be the funnest weeks I ever had at X

I see your point ESPNGuy but bad calls are part of the game... You have 2 guys...sometimes three trying to count to themselves for the 10-second call, the 5-second call, and the lane violation. They are watching the ball to see if it was inbounds, out of bounds, and if it was over and back. They watch feet (20 of them) to see lane violations, walking, charging, blocking, 3-point arc, inbounds, or out of bounds, and over and back calls. They are watching 20 hands for fouls, hand checking, who knocked the ball out of bounds, carrying....etc... They are also watching for body contact and positioning for over the back calls. They're listening for called timeouts and bad language. They also have to deal with coaches conduct and bench decorum.... There will be missed calls...it's part of the game...you must adjust to how the refs are calling the game...not vice-versa.... I think we are on the same side of this issue...just to different degrees!

:thumb: And excuses are for losers....for people who aretoo lazy to put in the real work or discuss the real reasons why they are failing!...and they curse themselves to continued failure!

:thumb: I think that the "T" should be used more. This would calm some of this down...I coach and I do not badger refs ever. This only takes your kids off their focus and encourages them to go into excuse mode. Human nature does come into play also...if you have been badgering a ref all game he/she is more apt to call rinky-tick fouls on your team. Not saying that all do...but human nature is hard to fight sometimes....That's why they should call the "T" and move on. I've never seen a ref change a call because a player, fan, or coach acted like a moron.

Nice looking ring...Those kids deserve it!........Tigercat does have a good idea....We could patent the use of the letter X and Trinity could do the same with the letter T.....We could charge a royalty to use either letter and then we could give all students who attend either school 100% financial aid so that we could be equal with what the public schools students have to pay. :ylsuper:

I was there....and can tell you that it does not matter......If you do all the things that you need to do, throughout the game....a call by a ref won't matter....X did not play well enough to win and Trinity did.....The difference in the game was X's penalty problem...You cannot play like that and expect to beat a team of Trinity's calibre.....the team that played the best that night won...period...No Excuses!

You're right...but I was looking for them because the Dupont is rarely used.

I saw Jeff today doing work for our parish...like I said...great kid!...he said that the 4.4 rumor is just that...a rumor. He said that he has gotten faster but not 4.4 faster. He is excitied about his chance to compete and is working hard. I hope he makes it...He is a great kid and I would love to see him achieve his dream..

:thumb: I coach grade school kids...and you can see it at try-outs....their shooting form is horrible....all hip shots...because they need the extra Umph to shoot from that distance.....It takes half the season to break this habit.

X was undefeated, nationally ranked, had beaten like 6 of top 8 teams in the state, and beat the Rocks by a land-slide earlier in the year. X was favored to win this game and threads right here on BGP gave the Rocks little chance. I would say that was an upset....anytime you are not expected to win and you do....is an upset. There is nothing wrong or demeaning to say that Trinity's win was an upset...in fact....it makes it a much bigger win considering they were suppose to lose. It says a lot about the character and fight of that team. It is demeaning to X...they were supposed to win yet another blowout and didn't...they got out-played...Take pride in that! You should!

:thumb: Beaumont is a stud...I was very impressed in the games that I saw. Vic is a stud too and he has been on a mission in the off-season...trying to get bigger, stonger and faster. Petrino will make his presence known too.

I thought so too...with admitted bias....but in all honesty....anytime you swing your arm at a defender...the ref is going to call the foul. If you block the shot without the violent looking arm swing....the ref is less likely to call the foul....Remember that he is often trying to look through players to see the foul...he'll call what he perceives....

Tanner Jacobs...hey I got it half right! I believe that T has a very good team. Jacobs is crucial. His drop step and up and under moves were very good and controlled. Trinity's press was also very impressive especially when they went to the denial option in the second half. I felt that Trinity had the better half court offense as well. They passed the ball very well. The only weakness that I saw was the point guard who seemed very tentative to use his left hand. When X's point played him tight, he wouldn't even attempt to dribble with his left. I thought X had way too much dribbling in their half court offense. All that dribbling lets the defense reset. Of course X's point guard got away with it because of his talent. He will meet someone down the line who stop his drives. If X ran a half court offense like T...they would have a much better record.

Both teams went away from their strengths in the second half. X played slow down starting with their first poss. of the 3rd Q. taking a full minute off the clock before attempting a shot. X got their lead from great play by their point guard and three point shooting. I don't recall a 3-point attempt by X in the 2nd half. Trinity had a beast underneath in #22...I believe his name was Tanner Murphy...I might have the name mixed up. X had no answer for this animal. When he went to the basket for the score...it was an automatic 2. In the 2nd half he didn't see the ball very often and when he did...he kicked it out. He did have crucial rebounds and tip outs that helped pull the rocks close. Very good game that featured a lot of class on both sides....
