The St. X Board of Directors approved the start of Phase II at their last meeting two weeks ago. While construction will start as soon as possible, I understand that a formal groundbreaking ceremony will not be held until later this spring. The baseball teams will be without a home field this year, I am not sure what arrangements are being made to accommodate the ball teams.

Project X was able to move on to Phase II so soon due to the generosity of many donors, both large and small, who believe in the lifelong values taught at St. Xavier High School. The stadium is to be named in honor of Brother Thomas Moore Page, CFX, at the request of an anonymous donor. Brother Thomas Moore was instrumental in St. X moving from its’ Broadway location to the current site on Poplar Level Road.

There is still a pretty nice big field at G-Town I am sure they will play at.

I think the inconvience that the baseball and track teams must endure will be more than worth the wait. This is a historic week in St.X history and will take the Tigers campus to another level. Having top notch facilities in every single sport is very exciting but the football stadium is what I have been wanting for years. This project is a dream come true for all the St.X family.

I am sure there are plenty of options for baseball, track, etc. this year, I'm just not sure what St. X will do. This is a good problem for St. X to have. Tiger fans have been striving for an on campus athletic complex for many years and it looks like it will come true in the very near future. When it is completed it will be one of the best athletic complexes in the area.

What effect will X's move have on Manual Stadium? Will the loss of revenue be a bad thing? Or will the lack of wear and tear be a positive development? Congrats to the X men on their new stadium.

From what I understand the only real money maker for Manual having X as a tenant is the revenue from concessions. Manual has plans to add field turf and take out the track around the field once X is done playing there. X does pay a minimal rental fee (compared to Old Cardinal Stadium or Papa John's), but I would say that the additonal wear and tear, extra maintainence, and field paint eat that up pretty quickly.

I hope an upgrade in lighting in #1 on Manual's agenda.

Why would you say that! I've been told from several Manual fans that there is nothing wrong with their lighting.

Good luck and congrats to St. X on all their construction projects.

Are you serious? That place is like being in a bar at night.

Calm down "whoknows". I'm just repeating what I've been told from Manual supporters.

Question for St.X.... Will all St. X home baseball games be played at the Germantown fields this season?

A bar after midnight and just before closing!!!! :D

That's when things are the most dangerous ...

I have yet to see an artist's rendering showing a scoreboard at Page Stadium. I know defense wins championships, but a scoreboard is a nice perk.

I hope St. X has plans to name the new turf field after Paul M Young.

Appears field house is under the home stands. Home side concrete? Visitors aluminum?

Very short left field down the line in the sketch on St. X website. Football is planning to practice full time on the new turf? Where will the Frosh go? Possibly where the current baseball diamond is? Or will that be paved for parking? Appears the seats behind home plate may be sold since this appears to be a fenced area with access via the football stadium only.
